The sun is shining. The weather is getting warmer. Yup, it’s almost summer and we can’t wait to get in the pool. And we know we’re not alone.

But before pool season starts, it’s important to make sure that your pool is properly secured. Whether you have a pool in your backyard or you’re a property manager with a pool on your property, there are certain rules and regulations regarding your pool’s fence and gate that you must follow. Do you know them? Are you following them?

If not, Texas Fence has put together The Pool Owner’s Guide to Fences and Gates. We hope this guide not only helps you understand the laws and regulations as they pertain to your pool’s fence but also helps keep children and animals safe all year round.

It’s not every day we’re afforded the opportunity to build a fence for a returning US veteran, someone who understands service at a higher level than we do. Operation Finally Home builds homes for wounded, ill, and injured returning veterans, and we’re proud to have built a fence for one such home they’re building in Houston. While we want to respect the anonymity of this veteran, we wanted to share some details on his experiences to highlight what service means to one of our most dedicated Americans.

The veteran we built this fence for served over 20 years in the US Army, joining the Green Berets in the process. He fought in the Global War on Terrorism, and even when he sustained too many injuries to continue fighting, he helped others by providing SERE (survival, evasion, resistance, and escape) training while he healed. Once healed, he returned to the war until even more injuries led to the end of his military career. This veteran exemplifies the virtues of sacrifice, giving all he could to defend his country not once, but twice.

Your dog is your family, your friend, and will follow you to the ends of the Earth. That is unless your dog sees or smells a squirrel, cat, another dog, or something shiny on the other side of your fence. It’s hard for dogs to shake those primal instincts no matter how well trained they may be. To protect your pet and keep them in the yard, pet-proofing your fence is essential. Texas Fence offers different options for your fence to keep your pets from roaming free.

Is your pet like the one in this video, able to clear a fence in a single bound? We can build a fence high enough to keep dogs with super canine abilities in check.

Do you have a small dog who likes to sneak in and out through cracks in the fence? We can build your fence to cover changes in elevation and fit the landscape of your backyard. The only thing we can’t do is teach your dog to sit.

Some things never go out of style, and iron fences aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Iron fences have a long history with roots planted in a time when iron was primarily used for tools and weapons. But today’s iron fences offer much more than primal security, they provide a clear view of their surroundings. They’re the perfect fence for families whose houses border golf courses, bodies of water, and forested areas- the kind of scenery you’d want to look at after a long day at work, unwinding in your favorite backyard chair. Our newest fence guide takes a comprehensive look at iron fences for your home, from their history to the science behind their lifespan and construction, and we even explore the details of their design and installation. If you want to understand more about the timeless charm of a well-constructed iron fence, this is the guide for you.
