I did indeed. You actually gave me a beautiful copy of that picture as a wedding gift :)

I have another reason to admire Matt Damon. Listen for his last statement in this video defending teachers.

I would be interested to know if anyone out there can defend the actions of a government that suppresses and/or moderates the findings of scientific studies conducted with tax-payer money.

He's still suppressing her ability to give interviews, and the government isn't speaking out about the findings that were important enough to be picked up in Science. Also, I didn't vote for him but even if I did, I would expect my elected government to demonstrate some accountability, not take my vote as inherent permission to do whatever they like.

I don't think I have ever read a more sobering xkcd as was today's.

I think the issue raised in this article is not about hiding behind a pseudonym in order to abuse, but protecting your personal identity in order to protect from abuse. Women who post on skeptical blogs are particularly susceptible, because their gender can often be inferred by their name, and being female seems to bring forth a larger than normal amount of hateful and threatening comments. I think if you are a fairly prominent blogger with a carefully protected identity, then Google+ is not a space you can be in at this point, which unfortunately limits your access to social media.
