Very quaint aquarium, though some of the exhibits were closed due to construction. As compensation they offer a 50% off coupon on the back of the tickets for summer - not much help for someone visiting from another country, but a nice gesture for locals.
This place is a kid favourite.
They don't seem to tire of visiting it.
Yearly passes in a few consecutive years and they
are still keen to pop in for a look.
We have also let them do the glass bottom boat thing,
which is reasonably priced ($10 last we did it).
Jelly fish and the cuttlefish are my favourites.
Took our two year old daughter to Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and she loved it. She was so excited to see the fish and turtles and starfish. It had her excited and entertained for hours.
A great family morning or afternoon out - highly recommended, especially for the young ones.
Been here as a kid, and I always take overseas visitors here when they visit Sydney. It never gets old. The sense of wonder when a huge stingray or shark or huge grouper fish swims overhead in the transparent tunnels- worth the fairly hefty admission price.
One of the best aquariums I have been to. I particularly like the interactive areas to let people learn more about the sea creatures. It always nice to have the touch pool as well. My favourite part is right at the end where there are plenty of seats for customers to sit back and watch the fish swim.
Disgusted by my experience there today. The fish look unhealthy and there are tons of bad anemone in the tanks. Poor filtration system resulting in poor fish color. The fish are just surviving, never mind thriving. Not worth the money, not even worth going there for free. Trust me I'm an underwater nationalist.
Disgraceful - the venue was hot beyond belief due to dead, old and dirty ventilation/aircon. It was extremely crowded, the venue was smelly and the hosting company used every opportunity to push merchandise at exhorbitant prices. The entire venue had the distinct feeling of a highly commercialised venture that was trying to squeeze all it could out of an over-used and under-maintained set of fish tanks. And of course it was also expensive.
