Airmate Company was founded in 1946 by Naval Aviator Richard Schreder, who was a founding member and original Board of Directors Secretary of the UPDA (now the IAPD). Originally, Airmate produced drafting instruments, which supported Schreder’s dream of building airplanes. Since then, the company’s specialties and services have expanded to include custom fabrication. Today, under second generation ownership, Airmate machines sheet plastic into custom parts based on customer specifications and offers product decoration, assembly and packaging services. Airmate serves a wide array of customers in nearly every industry, and specializes in providing OEM parts to the material handling and food processing equipment industries. In addition, Airmate continues to produce high quality drafting instruments and is one of the leading producers of plastic templates and stencils. With a deep heritage of excellence and innovation, Airmate takes pride in providing customers with the highest quality parts and unparalleled service. Airmate’s fabrication capabilities include CNC milling, drilling, sawing, cutting, routing, planning, shearing, bending and polishing of sheet plastic up to 4 inches thick and as large as 6 x 12 feet.
