One of the most wildly overrated restaurants I've ever been to. Other Italians seem to have similar feelings, and those who rave about it tend to be people in my life who also appreciate the Olive Garden. There are a thousand places in this city you'd be better off going to, with far less aggravation.

My car had a nervous breakdown and I was stranded but still needed to get to work (public transit was not an option), and everyone at this place was so sweet, helpful, funny, efficient, and all-around cool: the guy i first spoke with on the phone who promised he wouldnt give me a lame and ugly car, the dude who picked me up in 10 minutes instead of the hour I thought I'd have to wait, Chris who made my reservation and helped me pick out a car, and Tim who eventually drove me back home and simultaneously served as a psychiatrist for my pre-30th birthday panic. This is definitely my new go-to car rental spot. There's simply no reason to go elsewhere unless forced to. They have stellar customer service ratings for a reason. I think a red light camera snapped me for being a little late on a yellow light on an empty street at 3am, so I suppose I'll have to deal with them again when they get that in the mail. Sigh....

The crawfish etouffee, the service was perfect in that we were served without it being intrusive or suffocating. This was the perfect last meal in nola. great breakfast, great vibe.

On a lazy, breezy, sunny afternoon, we were pointed to this place while passing through Austin for a few nights on our way from ATL to Los Angeles. A pitcher of beer, BBQ, and the ability to lounge around on their back patio watching the trees sway? We still talk about how perfect that day was, a year later.

We loved the food, loved sitting outside, loved the local folk who chatted lazily with us as we lounged on the sidewalk. Our waitress, however, was so busy insisting she was the best waitress we'd ever meet (she did this over and over again, at length) but being from ny and L.A., the whole quirky loud freakishness thing was not anything we werent used to or couldnt pull off better ourselves, being the quirky loud freaks we are, and when we actually needed her she was nowhere to be found. Suffice to say, all our neighboring diners were donating cutlery and water to us out of pity.

Life-long new yorker, and Italian: this is the best pizza I've had outside of manhattan. huge slices, chewy crust, slices are hot and the sauce is perfect. The guys in there are truly sweet as well. Peppino's is how I plan on getting my family through every Friday dinner during lent.
