The beginning of the new year always makes me uneasy. Having twelve months pulled out from under me doesn't exactly sit well, even though its just a date on the calendar. Nothing but an arbitrary astronomical event.
Speaking of which, there was an interesting post on Bad Astronomy (I think it was republished) about the different methods we have of calculating the date and year. In the spirit of late-night local news, the answers may surprise you!
I downloaded the Omnibar extension for Safari today. And my count of reasons to go back to Chrome has diminished by one. Not that I have anything against Chrome—I think it's a speedy, inventive browser and one of Google's finer products—Safari just sports a finer finish and fantastic integration with OS X and my iPhone.
