Hey Google+ friends! I know I haven't been on here much, I submitted one of my designs to Threadless. If I get a high enough rating (5 is the highest), it'll get printed, I'll make $1,500, and I'll get a $500 gift card that I can use to buy copies of my shirt for friends.

Vote and give me a 5! And if you're a super majestic friend, share the link. Thanks for your awesome support.

Sooo my car wouldn't start when I went to leave work tonight. :/

First a male co-worker let me borrow his cell phone and took a look for me. Then a really nice lady drove me to get some Heet. I pulled out my debit card, and it had expired, so she bought it for me and refused to let me give her cash. Then she followed me home to make sure I made it. She also gave me her number in case I need a ride to work tomorrow.

Faith in humanity restored.

Turns out that part of my difficultly in weight loss was a gluten allergy. 4 full days of gluten free, exercising only lightly, and consuming more calories than when I'm actively trying to lose weight, and I've dropped 3 lbs. I do suspect that a big chunk of that is from less inflammation.

I'd love to try it, but I'm too broke to be picky about what's in my food right now.

Last night I came across part of an essay Poe wrote about his choices in The Raven. He argues that beauty is the highest aim of poetry, above truth and passion, and says that the two should only be used in contrast because they are antagonistic to beauty.

Anyway, in his explanation, he says that "Truth, in fact, demands a precision, and Passion, a homeliness (the truly passionate will comprehend me)..."

I already have a few thoughts on it, but I'm curious what other people have to say... what do you think he refers to by "a homeliness?"

Ooooh, I see, I didn't read the capitalization. I had to go look at this from my computer and not my phone to see what you meant. Yes. Passion requires homeliness is what he says, not that truth requires passion AND homeliness. Either way, I think the same reaction applies.

This is one of my favorite bars. It's a small pub, but definitely charming and great for conversation and gatherings. The bartenders are friendly and will get to know you and your favorite drinks. The food is good, filling, and reasonably priced. I suggest the Toad Leg BLT (It's really a large toasted sub roll with melted cheese, chicken strips, bacon, lettuce, and tomato) or a quesadilla... or cheese fries to split with friends. They feature a nice beer selection: Not huge, but larger than you would expect from such a tiny place. There's a nice little porch out back. I usually enjoy the music playing on the speakers... Often classic rock, depending on the person working. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch or a pint. Plus, they get two points for having spacious and clean bathrooms, and a nice selection of hot sauce. Trivia is also free on Mondays, and the prize is a $30 gift certificate. :)
