HEARTS ON FIRE — The Champaign Illinois Seventh-day Adventist Church will be hosting a series of FREE seminars about heart health and fitness. These seminars will be held at the Champaign Public Library located at 200 West Green Street Champaign, IL 61820.  There are four seminars in this series that will be held at the following dates: February 15 at 2:30 pm - Inflammation and Heart Disease, February 22 at 2:30 pm - Time for an Oil Change, March 1 at 2:30 pm - Thank-You Power, March 8 at 2:30 pm - New Heart; New You. Media on the Brain — Mark your calendars! We will have a special speaker at Berean Company on Apr. 4th, 2015. The address: Campus Religious Center, 210 W Mulberry St, Normal, IL. Speaker Scott Ritsema will be here to talk about the effects of different forms of media on brain activity. It is a 3-part seminar. The first part will be done during the worship service at 11:00AM, and the other 2 in the afternoon, at 2:30PM and 4:00PM. We will also have a special potluck scheduled that day, so be sure to invite all your family and friends to this exciting event!
 
All About Religious Liberty — Elder John Graz from the Religious Liberty department of the General Conference, and the United Nations liaison for the General Conference, will be the guest speaker at the Elk Grove Village Church, 1400 S Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village,  at the worship hour at 11:15 AM on Sabbath February 21, 2015.  There will be a potluck lunch served after church, and that will be followed by an afternoon presentation at the Downer’s Grove Church at 3 PM which will include a time for questions and answers.  Everyone is welcome.

Valentine's Evening Concert  —  Love Songs. Charles (tenor) and Julie Reid (soprano) will perform Love Songs from all ages on Feb. 14th, 6:30 pm in the Hinsdale SDA Church, accompanied by Victor Moreno. The Reids are professional singers and vocal instructors at the School of Music in Andrews University. Free admission with an offering to be collected.
 
CANDLELIGHT DINNER/SCHOOL FUNDRAISER  —  You are invited to come for the fun, food and live entertainment, Saturday, February 21st at 5:30 PM at the Crest Hill Christian School (21514 W. Division St; Lockport, IL). Dress is church or formal attire. Tickets now on sale, Couples $25, Singles $15 and Children 10 – 18 years $10. Hollywood, popular music, TV, video games, spectator sports, e-relationships, and pornography are saturating our lives. But what does the latest science say about the mind-altering effects of 21st century media? Gain inspiration from families, teachers, and leaders who have found freedom from poor media habits, and behold something better in the character of Christ. Also, Scott will present an outline of some research done on successful Christian parenting and spiritually strong young adults. Lunch and Light dinner provided. International student host family needed— Hinsdale Adventist Academy has a number of international students attending school this year. We are currently in need of a host family for one of our students. Host families receive ongoing support and monitoring, and a monthly financial stipend to ensure hosting a student is not an emotional or financial drain on the family.
International students are studious, polite and an asset to the school. We need 1 family immediately. If you are interested in knowing more please email Kym Parker, kym.parker@haa.org or call 630-288-9014

GOING BIG FOR BIBLES—This Christmas, Hinsdale Adventist Academy is coming alongside Bible League International to reach our goal of donating at least 100 bibles. We are asking for your support to provide bibles for this cause. We have only 2 weeks left in the year, so it will be a challenge. New Bibles and used Bibles are accepted. Bring bibles to the HAA Chapel by Friday, December 19th. We pray that God will bless our efforts as we embark on this challenge. Please keep this project in your prayers also.

Food, Fun and Fellowship Banquet VIII — On December 27, 2014 the New Jerusalem Seventh-day Adventist Church looks forward to sponsoring its 8th Annual Food, Fun and Fellowship Banquet at the Quality Inn & Suites. This event is unique, in that it has sold out with 500 in attendance over the last five years. This has become a very large community event that draws people from our community and surrounding areas. 
It consist of an hour of fellowship (meeting and greeting) with hors d’oeuvres, vendors, photographer and a live band (Chapman Trio) in the VIP room and a second live band on the main stage (Midnight Sun) followed by a sit down dinner, including dessert. Next, there are door prize gifts from community sponsors and a $500.00 scholarship presentation to a local college student. The young people from the youth department lead out in all aspects of the programming, including singing, dancing and spoofs similar to Saturday Night Live. To cap the evening off, we bring in professional comedians. This year we have contracted with Hen Sapp, (brother of Gospel Great Marvin Sapp) from Grand Rapids Michigan and as always, a surprise guest to further entertain you. We anticipate this years’ event will be another wonderful night of entertainment and fun for the whole family. Tickets are going very quickly! The LaGrange-Brookfield Church would like to invite you and your loved ones to join us for a special event beginning ONE HOUR before sunset on December 31st at 3:30 p.m. This service will include opportunities for thanksgiving, prayer, letting go of the past, and receiving exhortation and encouragement for the future. The guest musician this year is Neville Peter, a renowned blind recording singer and composer, who was born for the Grammys!www.NevillePeter.com Neville does not see the light of the sun, because he was born with a very painful disease that damaged the nerve of his eyes, but he graduated with music degrees from the University of Miami and started a successful music career. When asked during an interview if he would like to be healed and see the sunlight, Neville said that “it would be really cool if the first face that I ever see is the face of Jesus”! After the concert, all participants are invited to refreshments and fellowship with the artist.

Bilingual Christmas Benefit Concert — FeSJA (Hispanic Youth Committee) has organized a Christmas Benefit Concert at Central Hispanic SDA Church 2840 W Logan Blvd. Chicago, IL 60647 on December 6, 2014. The Concert will begin at 7PM. The funds will go to ADRA’s build a well benefit. Drilling a new well completely transforms a village by bringing safe, clean water close to home. Chronic disease from drinking unsafe water is cut drastically. Every major ADRA water project also includes training in vital hygiene and sanitation practices, which means a healthier future for an entire community. There will be Christmas songs including instrumentals by very talented groups and soloist. Come be a part of something big! Do good this Christmas by helping a community in Africa have clean water. You will have opportunity to see the development of the well during the coming months.
