Reminds me of the early days when everyone rushed headlong into PCs, found out they couldn't make money and then bailed. Remember the Timex Sinclair?

I remember the Timex Sinclair; I think most Americans fail to understand just how peripheral the US market was to Sinclair at the time. Whether that was the cause of their eventual failure can be debated, but it was certainly much more popular in the UK and Commonwealth. I just stumbled across one in a friend's home here in Singapore a couple of weeks ago. :-)

Great piece.
November marks two years of strongman Xi Jinping's rule as the head of China's Communist Party. In an unprecedented campaign launched by Xi and ally Wang Qishan, the Party has purged thousands of cadres from its ranks in the name of fighting corruption. The South China Morning Post uses data visualisation to illustrate how the has campaign progressed and changed the power balances in the world's second largest economy.

In Germany, we’re honoring the 93rd birthday of World War II revolutionary Sophie Scholl. One of the most famous members of the anti-Nazi non-violent resistance group the White Rose, Scholl was convicted and executed for high treason after she was found distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich. Today, she's recognized as one of Germany's greatest heroes.

If nothing else comes of the MH370 search, at least an alarm bell might be sounded for the need to clean up our oceans!
Mashable
The search for Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 has revealed the massive amounts of pollution floating in the globe's five oceanic gyres, most of it plastic.
