I remember the Timex Sinclair; I think most Americans fail to understand just how peripheral the US market was to Sinclair at the time. Whether that was the cause of their eventual failure can be debated, but it was certainly much more popular in the UK and Commonwealth. I just stumbled across one in a friend's home here in Singapore a couple of weeks ago. :-)

In Germany, we’re honoring the 93rd birthday of World War II revolutionary Sophie Scholl. One of the most famous members of the anti-Nazi non-violent resistance group the White Rose, Scholl was convicted and executed for high treason after she was found distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich. Today, she's recognized as one of Germany's greatest heroes.
