Hi. Does anyone have any advice about how to manage multiple Google accounts in a Chrome extension?

I'm using chrome.identity.getAuthToken to then run a script using a POST call and sending the token. I'd then like to get a token for a second account to then run another script with that token.

The extension will be pulling data from one account and putting it into the second.

One solution would be to store the data in chrome.storage.local then revoke the token, create a new one and then use the data from chrome.storage.local.

Any better solutions?

The long awaited Classroom gradebook is now available... to sign up in beta.

This makes a lot of sense for teachers using Classroom for the majority of marked work, especially at secondary or FE. You no longer need to keep exporting spreadsheets to see an overview of grades/marks.

Locked mode for Forms quizzes on managed Chromebooks is also available in the same beta format. Personally, this is not such a big deal but I know some people have been really looking forward to it.

Individual teacher can sign up but your admin must have already signed the PAPA agreement at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeCwus52qDydufxcbXnrcf_L8350TDAEB6UyYFW-wChspQ9JQ/viewform?ts=5b1ad192

Admins can sign up for the beta for a whole domain or specify a Google Group within your domain.

When the beta is rolled out, any class belonging to a teacher that is part of the beta will get the new features so they may also be visible to co-teachers who are not part of the beta.

For some reason, I love this. I was always a fan of docs.google.com/create but this is even quicker! I wonder how much the .new TLD cost?

Does anyone have experience of using Expeditions with a Daydream headset? I'm trialling the Lenovo Mirage Solo. When opening the Expeditions app it goes straight to self guided mode. I can't see a way to join an expedition?

Out of interest, has anyone else received a phishing email from customerservice@googlemasterclass.com?

The email is designed to appear like an order confirmation. At the top is a bar stating "This message is from a trusted sender" which is actually part of the email body rather than added by Gmail.

The most concerning aspect is that it has my actual address shown in the billing information. I'm trying to figure out where the address has been retrieved from and if there has been a data leak that I'm not aware of. Either the source of the address is linked in some way to Google or a Google related service, or it's just a coincidence that this scam has used Google's name and I happen to be a good target.

Does anyone know of any expeditions that specifically reference drought, the causes of drought or the effects of drought?

There are plenty including desserts which I could use. I was just hoping for something a little more specific! 🙂

The Google Expeditions app has been updated with a new design to make exploring independently more intuitive. The update also includes access to AR content that has been trialled in the US. AR requires a device compatible with ARKit or ARCore, which unfortunately means the majority of iPads in schools won't be able to us the AR content. There's a list of Android ARCore devices at https://developers.google.com/ar/discover/supported-devices

When you select "Make a copy for each student" in Classroom, those copies do not include any comments. CopyComments for Classroom is a Chrome extension that allows you to copy comments from a template Doc or Slides presentation that has been used in a Google Classroom assignment.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/copycomments-for-classroo/bimclhojllkneajakbnefcmiefgeiljo

Here's a video showing how it works: youtu.be/UcqoJvjwQc4

Comments can be really useful to use as part of a template to give students additional support, clear guidance or links to external resources attached to a specific part of the template.

I hope this is useful for people. Please let me know if you use it or if you have any issues!
