Had a good dinner this evening. Restaurant was not busy. Seated quickly. Took a bit for our waitress to arrive. We ordered stuffed mushrooms appetizer, one of us had salmon with crab cake on the side - the other had scallops with crab cake on the side. Mushrooms were stuffed with crab meat, shrimp and a little stuffing with a yummy hollandaise + old bay sauce. Salmon and scallops were perfectly cooked. Both were served with roasted tomato & spinach couscous - just a bit spicy but good. Crab cakes were good. They are fried so a large crab ball was delivered to our table - but they are all crabmeat - not lump, but no fillers at all. No major complaints about the service. It wasn't bad - just a bit slow. All in all, the meal was good. It is definitely more of a 3 $ restaurant than a 2.

As I always say... When the gratuity is included, the service is poor, especially for large parties. Recently, my family and close friends dined at this m&s grill, and it was disappointing. To begin, our server was very smarty pants (shanice) we should have received bread with our meal, we didn't until we asked and it came out with our food. Several people ordered blackened chicken Alfredo, but it was white. Another member of our party ordered a medium ribeye, it came out well done. When mngt ( dee sivell ) inquired about the service , we told her about the bread, we told her about the steak, and the Alfredo... She tried to justify the white chicken, she did not apologize that it was unsatisfactory, and she was un-empathetic that we experienced this at her restaurant. Then to top it off, $21 was missing from the cash when we paid our check.

Stinky patio smells like the inside of a garbage can. Lunch was slow to come from the kitchen and the recommended unbelievable crab cake was not good at all. The onion on the sandwich was the only flavor. The French fries were amazing though.

Made an early reservation on Valentines day (5:15) for 6 (4 adults 2 children). Seated promptly, but after being ignored for 20 minutes, we flagged down another waiter to find our waiter so we could at least get some water. Our waiter was training someone that night which seems like a really poor decision/timing given the anticipated workload due to the holiday that evening. So, after 25 minutes in, we get to put in a drink order and appetizers. Our waiter asks us if we want to order dinner while we are at it, to which I reply "as long as apps and dinner don't come out at the same time" to which I got a distinctly snarky "no, it wont". Apps come out and the shrimp cocktail I ordered was almost inedible due to the large ball of horseradish thrown into the cocktail sauce instead of separating the two. Since our waiter was nowhere to be found, we ate the overcooked shrimp anyway. Over an hour and a half in and we finally get to put in our dinner order. Turns out there were specials that night, but our waiter deemed us not worthy to tell them to. The golf ball sized filet I received was clearly not 8 ounces like I had asked for, and the lobster tail was under-cooked. The Parmesan orzo was disgusting with hard chunks of uncooked butternut squash. Our waiter was once again MIA and being as hungry as our party were, I ate it anyway.. again. I was able to track down the trainee and at least ask for some clarified butter for the under-cooked tail. So over 2 hours later, severely disappointed and out $250 before tip, we leave, never to return. They should be embarrassed to carry the McCormack and Schmick name.

The first time I went to M&S Grill, the food and the service were good. The second time, however, was very different. There was no hostess available to seat me, and later, my waitress didn't come to my table to help me at all. She refilled my drink once and brought my food, and then I never really saw her again. I ended up having to ask the manager if I could pay and leave. When I asked the manager if I could pay, she rolled her eyes as if I was being pushy, and then she made a backhanded comment under her breath as I was leaving. I didn't appreciate being treated like that. Also, the lobster bisque was too salty this time around. I do not plan to order it again if I ever visit M&S Grill in the future. Finally, there were flies around my table, so that probably means that there's something rotting nearby. I'm not sure what that was all about. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, the staff do not care about their jobs and the food is below par for the price. (Oh, and one other thing: I noticed that when I paid, the manager did not put the cash in the cash register, even though the register was right in front of her. She just held it in her hands until I left, which I thought was strange. Honestly, I left with a sinking feeling that the gratuity I left wasn't going to find its way to the server. I'm not sure why I felt that way, but I did.)

Our order taker was new and made a few forgivable mistakes. HOWEVER, he, the hostess and the manger all went out of their way to explain the ingredients due to my peanut allergies. They even cooked a separate dish just for me! The food was great (try the crab cake!) and made me feel welcome. I highly recommend.
