Songbird Saturday

Sorry to miss another great edition of #SongbirdSaturday. Visiting family and the holidays have me very busy these days. Never-the-less, there were a lot of great photos again this week and I appreciate all of you that participated. Hopefully, I can get back to some semblance of normality after Christmas.

In the meantime, Happy Birding!

Songbird Saturday - Northern Mockingbird

The Mockingbird is known for its unique ability of imitating many different bird songs, and is able to mimic over thirty different avian calls in sequence. It also mimics sounds of its surroundings, from the subtle sound of trickling water to the harsh whine of a chainsaw.

The last edition of +SongbirdSaturday for 2011 is tomorrow, which also happens to be the last day of the year. The first edition of 2012 will be on January 7th. Here are some tips on participating in #SongbirdSaturday:

Tag your photos with +SongbirdSaturday. This assures that your entry will show up on our theme page. (Use the + sign and not the # sign when tagging photos)

Tag your posts with #SongbirdSaturday and +SongbirdSaturday. This will assure your post shows up on the search and theme page and helps me find all of the posts for the theme when I select the "Best of the Best" every Saturday night.

Follow our Google+ page http://bit.ly/tv3llo

Thank you for participating and happy birding!

I'm back folks! I have been away from G+ for a while with some health problems but all is well now. Hope to get back into the loop over the next several days.

Many thanks to those who participated in #SongbirdSaturday this week. Many, many beautiful photos again this week. And it looks like most kept to the subject matter.

Have a great day my friends!
