Restaurant is very classy. Downstairs bar area is noisy and congested. Upstairs seating is very nice. Food is good but steaks not always prepared as well as they could be. Side item, creamed spinach is really good. Mostly a positive experience.

This place is amazing. The building is more gorgeous than any steakhouse in Washington, D.C. except probably Joe's. The entrance is awesome. We used the valet around the corner from the front of the restaurant and only had to walk a short distance. We were there early on a Sunday (around 5 PM) but we were not treated differently despite the fact that we were dressed casually because of our travel during that day. We immediately glance into and upwards towards the huge ceilings. We wanted to sit on the second floor, one of the corner tables to overlook the restaurant and really enjoy the grandiose nature of it all. However our hostess informed us that "The upstairs is closed." We settled for a booth in the downstairs dining hall against the window facing the bar. The bar has the proud slogan carved into the marble "Do Right and Fear No Man". Our waitress was kind and helpful, I ordered a salad and a drink (they have an awesome drink menu), and we ordered appetizers. Then we were surprised when we saw someone upstairs! I was immediately disappointed, did the hostess misstate that it was closed? We asked our waitress about the possibility of moving, she asked the manager to help. The manager was patient and service oriented. He immediately said of course we could sit upstairs and choose anywhere we like. Our waitress followed us to our table upstairs. They were very accommodating and even offered to comp some of the meal due to the misunderstanding on the hostess' part but that wasn't necessary. We honestly didn't want to leave, our corner table overlooking the entrance to the restaurant, bar, and dining hall made for a fun dinner over great food. This location is actually 3 stories tall technically with a separate wine cellar, private dining, bar, and bathrooms downstairs below the 1st floor dining hall. I highly recommend any steak lover visit this location for an experience unlike most steakhouses ambiance.

I wanted to try Del Frisco's for a while and finally had the opportunity recently. The bar is expansive and the restaurant was beautifully designed. But that's where the accolades end. We started with Shrimp Cocktail. The shrimp was large and tasty, but the cocktail sauce was like eating ketchup. No flavor or spice at all. I ordered a NY Strip Steak Pittsburgh medium rare. It came out on a hot plate, but was more like medium well. Flavor was ok, but completely overcooked. I returned the steak and although the waiter (and manager) were quite accommodating, the next steak wasn't much better. Slightly less cooked, but a solid medium if not more. Ordered creamed spinach as a side. Mediocre at best. It always amazes me when a premium steakhouse cannot do the most basic thing... cook a steak. Won't be back anytime soon.

Went on Dec 13th with my family to celebrate 2 birthdays. An hour after we left the restaurant 3 of the 4 of us had food poisoning-nausea-vomiting. The next day we were OK. I called on Monday and spoke to the manager to let him know we had an issue. I didn't want others to have the same problem. He said he would investigate and call me no later than the next day. Unfortunately no return call. I guess he didn't believe me? This will go down as one of our worst birthday celebrations we've ever had!

In the first place, Del Frisco's is one thing: beautiful. The bank-turned-steakhouse has a wonderfully rich atmosphere whose color and architecture lend nicely to a sense of grandeur. The bar was amazing as well. Service was quick, given the number of patrons, and I've never seen a wine cellar extend to the ceiling. The food, overall, was wonderful. The lobster mac and cheese was amazing! It was, by far, my favorite part of the meal. I mean, besides the broccoli. But I just like broccoli. I wish I could say I enjoyed my steak, but I really expected more from it. I've eaten some of my parent's leftovers before, and I expected their filet mignon to be more flavorful than it was. I would go again, but I'd definitely order something else to go with my broccoli and lobster mac and cheese.

The only plus side to this restaurant is the decor, and the steak. The restaurant was extremely loud, and the our table was right by the stairs. The waiter left our table for almost an hour without checking in once. Our food had taken about an hour and a half to arrive and then the waiter voiced his negative opinion of us for tipping $45 instead of his "calculated" amount of $75, as if he had deserved it. I would not recommend this place to anyone, nor will I attend again.

My date and I had dinner for her b/day last week. First time there for both of us. Here's our rated experience: The noise in this place is almost unbearable. You cant hear yourself talk. Appetizers: Steak Tartar and Calamari....both excellent....Grade: A Entrees: Veal and a Ribeye..........if Frisco's ever goes out of business, sell your stock in LESLIE SALT. Way over salted---both entrees. Ribeye is supposed to be the tastiest of the steaks---not here. It was tender but NOT tasty....Grade: C- Sides: We had creamed spinach. Never had it with a pickled taste--ruined the spinach. It was not good and it was not served hot. Grade: D Now for Frisco's generosity: they voluntarily brought a slice of cheesecake for my date for her birthday. Not only do they NOT sing h/b'day (most restaurants---even high-enders have the waiters sing), THEY CHARGED US $11.00 FOR THE SLICE!!!! Grade: A for the cheesecake...F for Frisco's class in charging for it. Will we go back: No chance. Do we recommend it: For the prices they charge, No Way!.
