Let's fix our congressional budget problems quickly: pass an amendment to the Constitution that states:

1.  Congress shall not be paid in fiscal years where the budget is not balanced.

2.  If a budget is not passed by October 1, the members of the Congress at that time shall be ineligible for reelection.

Watch how fast Congress will figure out which things are important to fund and which aren't with this rule in place.  Watch how many long hours they work to get a budget passed with this rule in place.  You'll likely see seven-day work weeks!

I have said for a long time, people are born socialist, and then grow out of it by exposure to the Real World, where they discover that capitalism works.  The goal of the Left is to withhold exposure to the Real World as long as possible through government programs.  This is one of the reasons why youth unemployment is such a national tragedy.
Boomers just don’t understand what younger people are saying about politics and culture.

Sure must be fun for the Obama's to spend our money.  Can't wait til they're gone.
The Obamas have spent over 44 million dollars in taxpayer money on travel and vacations. Some are even calling him the

This reminds me of a meme that was floated here in germany a couple of years ago: Germany had the highest tax revenue ever. Unfortunately there was no relative context given. Everyone knows that by the numbers the highest tax revenue Germany had must have been in 1923 ... Yes the money was not worth a lot but just by the numbers it was more than ever or hopefully ever will be...
So adjusted for inflation and so on and so forth how does this compare to the other. That is the relevant question. Who knows? Relative to inflation and GNP Kennedy or F.D.R. or Lincoln or who ever could be the worst offender... (Not that I want do apologize throwing money out of the window.)

And thank you for your hard work in changing the public perspective on nuclear power. Its only a matter of time.

"No society can long thrive by making its creators and innovators subservient to its pimps and thieves."
Chelsea Clinton, from her $10.5 million perch on Gramercy Park, declares that she finds it impossible to care about money. Bill and Hillary Clinton, shuttling between their multimillion-dollar homes — Chappaqua, Washington, the $200,000-a-month rental in the Hamptons — denounce the wicked rich and protest that they are not “truly well off.” A professor of poverty and left-wing activist at the University of North Carolina School of Law is paid $20...

Salon attacks Mitt.  He must be doing something right.  They should spend more time trying to prop up that pathetic excuse of a president they helped to slide into office.
Mitt Romney's purported comeback is capturing the hearts and minds of the media. Here's why it's absolutely insane

The reason Romney has "momentum" is because America has had two more years to regret Obama.  As Ed Koch once said, "the people have spoken, and now they must be punished."

And what is the common denominator in these murderous acts in many countries?  It dare not be mentioned.
GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING: The attack in Mpeketoni, which is about 30-miles southwest of the tourist centre of Lamu, came at the end of a weekend of bloodshed that has exposed the world to the shocking depravity of terrorists who appear emboldened by each other's acts.

The research I did for my thesis on thorium during the Manhattan Project seemed to lead me to the same conclusion: that Japan didn't surrender due to the nuclear bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, but rather due to the declaration of war on Japan by the Soviet Union.
What ended World War II? For nearly seven decades, the American public has accepted one version of the events that led to Japan’s surrender. By the middle of 1945, the war in Europe was over, and it was clear that the Japanese could hold no reasonable hope of victory. After years of grueling battle, fighting island to island across the ...

There's always money to pay off the person they hope will be our next president.  But cut tuition?  Heaven forbid!
At time of austerity, colleges spent top dollar for potential 2016 presidential candidate to speak on campus

As a fee, it's very expensive.

As a pre-emptive bribe, it's very cheap and easily defended.

The Obama VA cares more about windmills and solar panels than the policies that are putting vets in the grave.

I think posts about Barry are very pertinent since his administration has spent money on just about everything except cutting edge nuclear power research.  LIFTR could have been pushed to the forefront, but it was simply not popular with the left.  It puts things in perspective.  Additionally, Kirk is is entitled to his opinion on his own page.  Scientists are people too.

There can't be war in Iraq.  Obama said it was over.  Why won't Islamic terrorists just listen to him?  Is it because Americans are so mean?
;Leon Trotsky probably did not quite write the legendary aphorism that “you may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.” But whoever did, you get the point that no nation can

Sorry, but this article is simply wrong.  There was no relative peace in Europe under the 3rd Reich in 1941.  What should be done now is to recognize that the Kurds, Shia and Sunni cannot currently work together, thanks to the current Iraqi government.  We should stay out of this, just as we should never have invaded.  This is their war, not ours.  I think you should stick to Thorium issues as that is your expertise, and that is why you are respected by many, including myself.

The actual governments of Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia are causing a huge damage to their economical future. It is very sad, considering the huge potential of the region, especially Argentina and Brazil.
