GBXM|united > YEAR OF THE SNAKE: SEX PANTHER

What makes a vehicle sexy? How about a twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood of a retired Police Interceptor? Yeah. 60% of the time, it works every time. And it's made from bits of real Cobra, so you know it's good.

Magazine Makers  -

Hi there. First post.

My little online magazine has been a mostly solo effort for three-plus years. Since this community is likely to make the distinction, I'm talking about a magazine-themed blog. A couple weeks ago, I published my first ever digital issue on Issuu (attached). The big goal for the year is to also offer conventional, printed subscriptions as well.

Issuu will print. So will Mag Cloud. And I guess Create Space or whatever will as well. But I'm looking for other alternatives to explore. Think: fulfillment. Anyone have any experience/suggestions? Thanks.

+Brian Driggs Well that certainly opens my eyes. No wonder magazines cost so much these days. Keep us posted.

This is actually very cool. I bet the people here in America who bitch the most about the price of fuel are the same people sitting in their V8-powered trucks with the AC running on their lunch breaks or hauling ass all by themselves around town because NASCAR.

We have it really, really good in America. Buy a smaller car. Pay it off.

Cool - I always knew it was like $8 a gallon in the UK. What the hell is up with Venezuela? Fuel is free there apparently...

GBXM|united > GOING WITHOUT A CAR IN PORTLAND

People who bus/bike/book-it around Portland shared their thoughts on being car-less with a gearhead from Phoenix. Interesting...

GBXM|united > ROSS COX & R. SOUT: STAY CRAFTY QLD

Ross is handling his business down under. After a successful 2012 season - with a tired engine - he's rebuilding the rally car, landing sponsors, and preparing to show the Sunshine Coast why they call themselves "R. Sout."

GBXM|united > POP! GOES THE GREENER GRASS

On my way to work this past Monday morning, I found myself admiring one of my all-time favorite cars. That's when it happened...

GBXM|united > Seat (Ibiza) of the Pants

It's been 2+ years since I interviewed Darren Jones, the guy with the £40 Skoda Felicia who regularly enters Wales Rally GB. Now that homologation on the Felicia has expired, he's got a new car. We talk about homologation, obstacles, achievments, and broken axles.

General Discussion  -

+Drew Wallner got this whole thing started. Figured I'd share how it all played out. I'm just a car guy in Phoenix with an interest in one day moving to Portland who was intrigued by what he read here.

Thanks to +Grizwald Grim +Barry Cochran +Shawn Adams +Lisa Silvey +Chris Baskind & +Ken Gerts for sharing their perspectives with my gearhead readers, and +Ben Latterell for generously providing pictures of Portland to accompany the text. Couldn't have done this without you!

Looking to switch Gmail accounts - not just move email. Any ideas?

Example:
account1@gmail.com to account2@gmail.com
> How do I keep my account1 calendar & google+ while making account2 my primary presence online?

Ironically, Googling this hasn't proven helpful.

Hot off the (digital) press. First ever issue of Gearbox Magazine.

It's got some issues, but it's done and it's out there and I learned a lot.

Your feedback is appreciated.

I really, really like this idea. What do the Gearheads of the world think are the biggest issues facing the automotive industry today? What needs fixed or changed?
