My friend +aliisaacstoryteller posted a teenage angst poem which reminded me of a very dark verse I penned as a seventeen year old. I crawled up into the attic and retrieved the original piece of yellowed paper and transcribed it for you here. Not sure if, like it is the right choice of words, but here it goes.

Well, red is the colour of danger, and red is the colour of love. Given the week that is coming, I give you a little of both.

Be warned, a whisper in the ear may come back when you least expect it. Lovely work +A Long
hot poet

So, if you date a hot poet
know it's fraught with danger,
you'll wind up in poems,
and you'll pretend
you're a stranger.

Passion is fodder
for poems and songs,
love isn't secret
or sacred for long.

Yes, former beaus
become jokes on the shows,
(and lampooned in print),
now everyone knows.

Her eyes: they had twinkled,
now shockingly red,
have lost all their glint,
while she cries in her bed.

She may soon get the notion
when she's over love's stint,
to write some poetry motion,
when red spark's lost its flint!

You should know from the start
if you must date a poet,
eternal love may be scorned
and soon all will know it.

So, if you date a hot poet
know words sworn in love
often morph into verses of hate,
and spell a poetic end
to the lover that's late.

We enter the last 24 hours of this story. By the time the sun sets on Jimmy Kingston and his war the world will be a changed place.

Some shots from my trip to Bantry Co Cork. The pub is Ma Murphy's and if you see the fridge, it had its 70th Birthday Party five years ago. You can tell that time passes slowly when the poster is still there for all to see. If you are passing I can tell you there is no better pint to be had!!!

I do like a story, and I like good tunes. This is a nice combination of both.

Anybody able to tell me how I can post a screenshot on G+
