Adoption of four new policies at Natural England is intended to smooth the application process for wildlife (protected species) licences for development projects, and provide greater security for protected species populations. The policy has been specifically targeted at great crested newt, although it applies to all European Protected Species including hazel dormouse and all bats species. We will be monitoring policy changes and what this means for our clients over the coming months. You can read more about the new policies in our latest news article.
