1929 Dodge. Structurally intact and the engine turns over. Jealous of the owner - this would be magnificent to restore!

Creating a Bootable Mac OS X Mavericks ISO
I'm never going to remember this next time I have to do it - saving it for posterity (and the ability for me to find it easily). The original reference is found at http://forums.appleinsider.com/t/159955/howto-create-bootable-mavericks-iso#post_2412005 . Th...

Nightly speed tests to Internode's Hobart speedtest servers now consistently below 2Mbps. Meh. #internode #netflix #broken

Power Rangers, but not as you know it!
The term "gritty reboot" has been bandied about so many times since Batman Begins that it has become a catchall dig at any attempt to revive a familiar pop-culture property. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot currently slated for summer 2016 is no different, but this fan film shows what could happen if the film went full throttle on the Grit Factor.

Can someone tell me why FreeBSD's new package manager is so sh*t? pkg version shows me out-of-date packages but pkg upgrade tells me I'm up-to-date, and then when you can upgrade the solver decides it wants to aggressively uninstall just about everything.

Package management on my Raspberry Pi just seems to work, so maybe I just need to migrate from FreeBSD to a Debian-based distro...

Nah, that's not it. It was the conflation of binary package management with ports management. pkg will use the ports index if present for version checks, which results in the out-of-date bogon when the binary package repo hasn't caught up with the ports index.
I've finally managed to work around pkg's shortcomings. Annoying that it took me the best part of a week to work it out. A rather disappointing FreeBSD experience in a long time...

Launceston, Tasmania
Every meal we've had here over the last few years has been excellent. Kids' meals come out quickly and at a pleasant temperature for the children. The piri-piri pork and lamb kofta have been regular menu entries and are our favourites. The enclosed deck extension is great for dusk meals as well as watching the lake during a dreary winter's day. The highlight for the children is the large jumping pillow, which is free for either diners or those staying at the resort. One of the best restaurants in and around Launceston for families with younger children.
