Buongiorno a tutti.

La Vita è un dono , dei pochi ai molti,
di coloro che sanno e che hanno,
a coloro che non sanno e non hanno.

Wow ! Amazing !!!
Annular Solar Eclipse

It's a miracle ring what celestial mechanics makes for a few minitues of the centuries at the specific place. Certainly I will not be able to see this perfect ring in my life time again, at least, in Tokyo.

I took this shot by very good fortune because I did not have a ND filter to decrease the strong sun light for a camera. The perfect clouds condition enabled me to take it.

The celestial ring hovered above dark fast-fleeting clouds. It looks like Japanese Sumi-e, ink-and-wash painting.

A Solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth. This can happen only during a new moon, when the Sun and the Moon are in conjunction as seen from Earth. There are four types of solar eclipses: A total eclipse, An annular eclipse, A hybrid eclipse and A partial eclipse.

The Earth revolves about the sun yearly and the Moon revolves about the Earth monthly. So if the Moon were in a circular orbit close enough to the Earth and in the same orbital plane, there would be total solar eclipses every single month. However, the Moon's orbit is angled at more than 5 degrees to the earth's orbit around the Sun so its shadow at new moon often misses the Earth. This factor makes an Eclipse rare phenomenon.

An Eclipse could occur roughly a few times in a year somewhere on the Earth. For example next Annular Eclipse will occur on 13 November 2012 at north Australia and Solomon Islands.

However at a specific place an Eclipse is very rare phenomenon.

For example, at Tokyo, the last Annular Eclipse occurred on 8 September 1839 (5:28-5:30). This time it occurred on 21 May 2012 (7:32-7:37). Next time it will occur on 8 April 2312 (6:56-6:59). I can’t see it in my life again, at least, in Tokyo.

There is a very old fantasy on the Moon, The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (竹取物語 Taketori Monogatari), also known as Princess Kaguya (かぐや姫 Kaguya Hime). It's a 10th century Japanese folktale and the first texts of any culture to imagine that the Moon is an inhabited world and describe travel between it and the Earth.
It primarily details the life of a mysterious beautiful girl called Kaguya-hime, who was discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant. She is said to be from The Capital of the Moon and has unusual hair that shines with a light like the moon.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I am very pleased to share this miracle moment with you on this beautiful planet.
