At 6’2” and 190 pounds, Joel Runyon does not have the typical ultramarathoner’s physique. But that didn’t stop the 30-year-old Chicago native from recently completing seven ultras on all seven continents to raise money to build seven schools in partnership with Pencils of Promise, a not-for-profit organization that constructs schools in Ghana, Laos and Guatemala. hools
