I've loved the Montage for years. Be aware, the service can be "unique"; sometimes it's super friendly, outgoing and prompt, others, it can be a bit slow and sometimes a little disengaged. Their Mac and Cheese, though, is so worth it. I really like the tomato, basil pesto mac with andouille sausage added. They also have some very affordable wine options, which are half off on Monday evenings (or they used to be, you should check first). Oh, and the take home leftovers are always wrapped in foil as artistic representations of things. Way fun! Also, you may be sat in communal seating, in case that bothers you.

Very cool late night dining spot. A great place to take an out of town visitor on their first night in Portland as it sums up what we're about- good food, great decor, hipster chic, weird (under a bridge)...pretty much has it all. I wish they had more veggie options and a less confusing alcohol menu, but this is one of those places it's hard not to like.

The google picture doesn't convey the vibe in there. It is dark and has that so old it will never look clean thing going on. That being said.... I LOVE it. So-so service but very different but not far out there menu. I wouldn't be surprised if all of the meat comes in frozen but that is the norm many places. Be sure to say you want your left overs "wrapped" and not just to-go. They create these awesome foil creations for your leftovers.

One of the first places I fell in love with after moving to Portland. Relaxed and unique atmosphere. Stellar food. I'm a raw oyster fan BECAUSE of the oyster shooters here. Not a place to go if you're dieting or if you're offended by bold flavors. Killer cocktails too. Rumor has it that brunch here is legendary but 'm still reveling in dinners here. Open and serving late, for all you club hopping 20 somethings.

Had an oyster shooter and delicious biscuit/gravy/egg/sausage thing for brunch. Fun place and great food. In an unsuspecting location.
