Straight from the ALEC playbook.  It's ironic that a politician named Koch sponsored it.  Look for these retrograde actions to pop up in other GOP controlled states.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A bill backed by Indiana's utilities that would change how much credit owners of small-scale solar installations get for…

If you don't think LED bulbs make sense, think again.  Considering purchase price and running costs at $0.13/kWhr the LED break even point is <1K hours!  And this doesn't even consider the normal lifetime of an incandescent bulb is 1K hours versus 10K for LEDs.  Light output and color temperature are now identical but power draw is 9.5W versus 49W.  Better return than the stock market - a no brainer.

I thought the rhododendron were toast this harsh winter but not so.  Good to have them back.

The proper integration of renewables and the ramping down of fossil fuel plants requires a shared vision between private utilities and the common good.  It also requires investing in the smart grid, cleaner generating  plants and developing energy storage options.  Costs associated with these activities are what we must bear as fairly as possible.  Fighting to maintain the status quo just to salvage current utility business models is not an option, otherwise we should nationalize utilities as in the past.
Not only can homes with photovoltaic cells and wind turbines generate electricity, but they can also sell that juice on the backs of grids that the power companies pay to maintain. No wonder they’re asking states to tax renewables.

+Michael Ward Yes, a great time in Maui & a break from the brutal cold weather in Ohio.  Interesting point on the dove.

Yellowlite was very helpful working with me to plan a SSE roof design only to have it rejected by my HOA. They located an alternate design (backside WSW) that was acceptable to the HOA and proceeded to get all approvals. Installation was fast & professional, and very neat (my wife is picky). The 5.1KW system came up with zero problems and is pumping out now. The AEP rebate has been approved and should follow in a few months. All told I am very happy with the Yellowlite team and would not hesitate to recommend them.
