A strong critic of China's human rights record and a supporter of the Tibetan struggle in the US Congress, Nancy Pelosi has travelled to Tibet.

But as this article shows, the Chinese government not only controls visits by foreign dignitaries and journalists, they put words in their mouths. In this case, the Chinese state-owned Tibet Daily says Pelosi “highly praised” the “progress” in Tibet.

We are sure she will soon have something else to say.

Warren Entsch MP, Chair of the Australian All-Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet, endorses our report Tibet - An Environmental Challenge.

"This report gives a powerful insight not only into the full significance of Tibet in today’s world, but why we must finally start listening to those who truly know and understand this uniquely important land – the Tibetan people.”

You must read this!

An investigative report looks at China's campaign of intimidation, obstruction and harassment to silence critics at the UN Human Rights Council.

Tibetans and those of us working in the Tibet movement are all familiar with it. We appreciate Reuters for undertaking this important piece of journalism.

Many of you have heard about the Dalai Lama's cancellation of his US tour next month due to health reasons.
We are happy to let you know that His Holiness has done his medical check up over the last few days. He checked out from the Mayo Clinic in the US state of Minnesota yesterday in good spirits. Addressing a gathering of the Tibetan community there, he said apart from his ailing knees he is in good health. He shared a joke that his doctor reminded him that he is 80 years old, and not 18.

He confirms that the October US tour is cancelled and that he will take some rest. Thank you His Holiness!
