Quadrants

I was about to write an essay length description on what I've been doing for the past few months but I think I can sum it up in once sentence:

…blah, blah, blah…felt uninspired…yadda, yadda, yadda…something was missing in my photography…hee, hoo, hah…sold my digital gear…so on and so forth…bought a film camera.

In all seriousness though, it's been a wonderful challenge and has rejuvenated my love for photography. It's helped my creative process and I don't regret it for a second. I've got a long way to go but the journey will be rewarding I'm sure. Throughout this learning process +Steve-Maxx landeros   has been most kind and generous with sharing his vast knowledge of film with me. I truly appreciate the guidance, Steve, thank you for all your help.

I hope to catch up with everyone throughout the week, I sure have missed a lot.

Thank you much, +Steven Markham.

Thanks for the encouragement, +Frank Daniel Brubakken, much appreciated, the switch does seem quite natural…although still very challenging.

Thank you much, +Chris Soukup

Much appreciated, +Athena Carey, this was an old boat launch from the garage of a light house. It had a good slant down to the water so I positioned the camera up by the garage and walked down. This allowed for more space between my head and the horizon than usual. Glad you like it!

Cheers, +sal virji, much appreciated!

Another fantastic interview by +Nathan Wirth with the one and only David Fokos. Wonderful insight with stunning images to match, I encourage you to give this a moment of your time.

If you dabble in long exposure photography then this is an interview that you should really read.  David Fokos has been working on long exposure seascapes for decades, well before the current crop of recent superstars made their debut on the Internet.  David agreed to my long interview process and over the last few months he has offered some great insights into his own work, Japanese aesthetics, and long exposures in general.  I hope you all enjoy this interview as much as I enjoyed gathering and collecting the responses and images and asking the questions ...  please do feel free to share this with any of your long exposure photography friends or anyone who enjoys excellent, contemplative and minimalist work.

And if you missed the interview I did with the amazingly talented and original Susan Burnstine, you should add that to your reading list as well ... or you can browse around and enjoy some spotlights on some fine photographers' work ... or some nice features on lightning, microphotography, or faces ... or even read my exceptionally long-winded essay about photographing Drake's Beach ... or catch my previous interviews with Kevin Saint Grey, +Cole Thompson, +Steve-Maxx landeros,   +Joel Tjintjelaar, or +Brian Day.

It's all there waiting for you, a site filled to the brim with beautiful images and all shared ad and commercial free for your viewing pleasure ... maybe you might even sign up for some updates ... what are you waiting for then?  Follow the link below ... share freely with your friends ...

Beautiful natural lighting reflecting down on the points of interest, the telescope, it's stand and the graphics on the flooring. Perfectly shot!

Multiplicity

Trying to catch up from a short hiatus. I haven't had the chance to say thank you to everyone for your amazing support this last year. I truly appreciate all of your plusses and wonderful comments. I hope 2014 provides you with much inspiration, and most of all, pleasure and satisfaction in this art that we love.
