In the comments you'll see the Republican base out in full force, displaying high levels of ignorance and more than a little racism (If you don't equating being poor with being black and calling them savages isn't racism you've got a problem.). One of the interesting things about their rants is that they completely ignore the fact that much of the actual article addresses the problems of the working poor. The "conservative" comments rail against the poor as lazy bums on welfare and don't mention anything about the points the article makes concerning the work environment they face while doing what society tells them to do.
