Did you know that 1984 marked the start and journey of isolating pluripotent stem cells (these are mother cells that can differentiate into just about anything). When pluripotent stem cells are exposed to retinoic acid, they can change into another cell type with a specialized function, such as a heart, muscle or brain cell. #facts #research #stemcell

You can improve your posture while you sleep! A good mattress (usually one that’s firm but not too hard) will support the spine and its natural curves. Your mattress should be able to keep your spine in the same position as a good standing posture. #backpain #posture #tips

While it is always a good idea to eat properly, choosing the right foods can make a big difference in RSD/CRPS. In general avoiding foods that decrease blood flow such as coffee and chocolate and anything that challenges your immune system can also worsen your overall condition. #RSD #CRPS #nutrition #diet #health

Did you know, studies have shown that those with poor blood sugar control (including diabetics) have fewer stem cells circulating to repair damaged arteries? This means that an excess amount of sugar and refined carbs can damage and decrease the number of healthy stem cells you have. #stayhealthy #beactive #eatright #diabetes #stemcells

Scoliosis is an abnormal curve of the spine, or backbone. While the spine has normal curves, which can be appreciated when looking at it from the side, abnormal curves are those that are visible when looking at the spine from the front or back. With scoliosis, the bones of the spine twist to either side. But did you know that there are 3 main types of scoliosis? Read more about it here! http://ow.ly/Mm8h30bBR2f #scoliosis #backpain #painrelief #PiedmontPMR
