This Community is dedicated to the SHARD RPG.  The game introduces the world of Dárdünah (pronounced DAHR-doo-nah).  The Shard RPG features anthropomorphic animals (which are called Zoics) as the character races.  There are no humans on on Dárdünah.  The tone of the setting can best be described as Asian heroic fantasy with a strong cloak-and-dagger influence, all set on an alien world.

The SHARD RPG was produced by SHARD Studios and released in 2008.  The game is a re-imaging of the Dárdünah: World of the False Dawn RPG was was released in 2006 by Esoterica Studios.

I set up the solo map, macros, and tokens in Roll20.  Last night I created a Dwarf Fighter and ran him through it.  He died in the third room to a Troll Enforcer.  Here is his sad saga:

Marglim the Mighty
STR - 15
DEX - 15
INT - 9
CHA - 9
PER - 12
HP - 24
AP - 13
Equipment: Medium armor (+2 AP), shield (+2 AP), warhammer (1d6+1).

=== Room 1 ===
Rolled a Boss Enemy on the Encounter Table; Ice Golem.
Marglim makes his Perception Skill Test and notices the Ice Golem in the room.
Marglim wins the Initiative contest.
Round 1:   Marglim charges the Ice Golem.  He hits it for 5 damage.  The Ice Golem misses Marglim with its attack.
Round 2:  Marglim attacks and hits for 7 damage.  Marglim defeats the Ice Golem.
Rolled a Short Sword (1d6+1) on the Loot Table.

=== Room 4 ===
Rolled a Common Enemy on the Encounter Table; Giant Spider.
Marglim fails his Perception Skill Test and doesn't notice the Giant Spider.
Surprise Round:  The Giant Spider bites Marglim for 3 damage.
Marglim wins the Initiative contest.
Round 1:  Marglim hits the spider and does 4 damage.  The spider bites Marglim for 4 damage.
Round 2:  Marglim hits the spider and does 2 damage.  The spider bites Marglim for 2 damage.
Round 3:  Marglim hits the spider and does 5 damage.  Marglim defeats the Giant Spider.
Rooled a Dagger (1d6) on the Loot Table.

=== Room 3 ===
Rolled a Boss Enemy on the Encounter Table; Troll Enforcer.
Marglim fails his Perception Skill Test and doesn't notice the Troll Enforcer.
Surprise Round:  The Troll Enforcer hits Marglim for 5 damage.
The Troll Enforcer wins the Initiative contest.
Round 1:  The Troll Enforcer hits Marglim for 5 damage.  Marglim drinks his potion of Healing and restores 3 HPs.
Round 2:  The Troll Enforcer misses Marglim.  Marglim hits the troll for 3 damage.
Round 3:  The Troll Enforcer misses Marglim.  Marglim hits the troll for 5 damage.
Round 4:  The Troll Enforcer hits Marglim for 7 damage.  Marglim misses the troll.
Round 5:  The Troll Enforcer hits Marglim for 3 damage.  Marglim is at -2 HPs and falls to his enemy!

I became hooked on the MTDAA RPG when I picked up the 1st edition booklet back in the late 1990's.   I just love the concept of playing anthropomorphic military ants!

The game has gone through several editions.  The earlier editions played like more traditional role-playing games.  The fourth edition of the game, MTDAA: Resolute Edition Core Rules was a rule-light system derived from Splintered Realms Publishing Resolute game system.

The fifth and current edition, MTDAA: Legacy Edition, is also a fast-paced rules-light game system.  It is easy to pick up and play after a few minutes of reading.  The current edition refines and compiles nearly all of the campaign information from the previous editions, and also incorporates Michael T. Desing's latest work on the MTDAA comic series from both print and web versions.

Awesome!  I'm looking forward to seeing more of these. :)

Welcome all to the HOW Google+ Community!  Let's have some great discussion and share ideas and information about C. R. Brandon's most excellent Adventure RPG Game.

Sweet!  Stumbled across this while checking recommendations. :)

I dig the heck out of the art!  Looking forward to checking the reports and stuff out.

+Robert Adducci It was your post here on G+ that turned me onto this event.  I didn't participate in your Dark Sun games, but I did get to play two new systems that I've been wanting to try out live- Ubiquity and Savage Worlds.  I had a great fun that day.  Thank you!

Help!  I am setting up a zombie encounter for a 6e HERO game.  I believe that I read somewhere that the zombie's strength decreases when it is damaged.  However, for the life of me, I cannot find that information anywhere now that I am actually looking for it.  Can anyone point me toward the book and page where this is discussed?  Or did I just make this up in my own head?  LOL!
