Wow. What a great piece. Thanks, +Matt Comer for highlighting my legacy as a blogger/citizen journalist in QNotes' voices of NC's LGBT history-makers for Black History Month:

Still feel not worthy for some reason, but it's wonderful to have made some impact:

"Spaulding’s commentary and writing touched nearly every aspect of the LGBT and progressive communities. She kept tabs on local politics in cities across the Carolinas, often attending local government meetings in and around the Triangle. She’d visit the General Assembly to report on lobby days or get on-the-scene sources during legislative debates. She detailed LGBT activism in states and towns across the country, and even weighed in as an on-air commentator on CNN during the 2008 election. And, she used her increasing influence to build and lift the voices of other people of color, southerners, women and transgender writers."

And QNotes devotes quite a bit of ink in the piece to my new passion -- Journey Revisited, an interest miles away from political blogging, but one that gives me immense satisfaction in a new chapter of my life. (Thanks, +Jeff Salado, Val, David, Michael and Kevin).

Of course I didn't completely go away from politics; I still spout off on Facebook and Twitter...and I do some work behind the scenes with fellow voices in the movement.
It's not every day that you get such wonderful press. There's a piece on my role in the LGBT movement as part of Black History Month, recognizing NC residents who have made an impact. Matt Comer of QNotes interviewed me and t...

Every time we believe a lie we are not controlled by the lie itself for the lie is only a rearrangement of words, meanings and understandings.  Words never control a person.  But when we actually end up believing the lies we see and hear each day around us we lose our ability to remain free.

Lead singer Jeff Salado: "I'm jazzed to announce that we're officially welcoming Pam Spaulding into the Journey Revisited family to support the band's outreach and operations as JR's fan base continues its incredible growth.

She's been working with us for the last few months as a "web angel" - building the web site, writing and promoting content (band interviews, fan profiles) and assisting with social media, including updates to our official JR Facebook page to interact with you. That's why you've seen her name in many of the posts lately.

Val, Dave, Mike, Kevin and I are excited about Pam officially coming on board to represent JR and "Faithfully" support her enthusiastic work with us 1000% - and we hope you do too with "Open Arms" (wink, wink).

Journey Revisited fans and friends who are coming to our gig on November 8 at Black Oak Casino will have a chance to meet her as she works the event!

Go Team JR!
- Jeff

Journey Revisited is:
