If anyone has noticed, all of the reviews with 3 stars and above are from about 3 years ago or later. It really is a night and day difference from B fitness to Trufit. The staff generally doesn't even acknowledge you when you walk through the door, if they're there at all, or they give you a little nod while they keep talking to their friends. If anyone is there, there's three of them and two of them aren't doing anything. It doesn't take three people to watch you check in, especially when everything else in the gym is broken. The drinking fountain lever is currently taped in place. Instead of fixing the tvs on the cardio equipment, they just remove them. They installed crossfit equipment in the gym where they used to have a basketball hoop. You have to pay extra to use that equipment now. Poorly run. And it's obvious. When I see people taking tours, I mouth, "Don't do it!" I hate this place.

The gym overall is run down and needs to be updated. Many of the cardio machines have something broken on them. I don't believe the steam room is ever cleaned, It is the worse smelling steam room i have ever been in. Showers are small, knobs broken and soap smells terrible. Weights are all beat up, some machines out of order. Not the best quality for a full service gym.

WORST GYM EVER. Their finance department must be run by a bunch of ex convicts. My wife was charged over 300 dollars in 2 months when her membership is only $15 dollars. Management's explanation was that her credit card rejected their charge so they weren't able to take the money out (which was a false accusation). This resulted in a late fee of course. Miraculously just a couple days after the due date they were able to pull funds from that same card. hmmmm. seems fishy. The credit card company had no record of rejecting a payment. The rest was explained as just a "finance mistake." We found all of this out after 3 visits to the Westminster location and 3 meetings with in insanely rude general manager (their 3rd general manager in just 6 months btw) before my wife was able to get her money refunded the first month. we are still working on getting the other portion back this month. WTF is wrong with these people?! DO NOT GO TO TRUFIT EVER! they are the most unethical company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. I am so pissed I signed a 1 year contract. I asked how much I had to pay to get out of this contract and the only recourse was to pay the full amount due. Shame on me.

I signed up about a year ago when it was B Fitness. The staff and trainers were all really friendly and helpful. The machines worked and the place looked fantastic. I loved the place! When Trufit bought it out everything changed. They painted the walls an ugly bright blue and green color so now it looks like a kiddy play center. They took out the smoothie bar and started slacking on the towels... whereas before they had them all over the club so you could grab one pretty much wherever you were. Now every time I come in there is nobody at the front desk... I could sneak in a few friends I suppose. Customer service is terrible. One time when I used the hand dryer in the women's locker room sparks flew out of it and I went to go tell an employee but there was nobody to be found. Going to another gym once contract ends.

The gym itself isn't bad. Definitely run down and needing some equipment maintenance. The shady business practices are what you have to watch out for. I Signed a contract and then moved 20 minutes away from the gym shortly after. Not far enough to cancel, so stopped going and still paid every month. Called a couple times to confirm when I could cancel my membership and what I had to do. Was informed all I needed to do was bring in an ID and cancel before my contract end date. What is really shady is both times I called, they failed to inform me that I needed to cancel 10 days prior to my contract end date. So I get to pay for another month. If you are gonna cancel make sure you do it ten days prior. Apparently they will never tell you this until you are locked in for another month.

The manager isn't very friendly. I pay for 2 people on my account because I originally wanted to be able to bring a buddy as a spotter but you guys don't offer that. The person I signed up the account (which by the way wasn't even there to sign up I just gave the guy his information) can no longer go to the gym with me to be my spotter. I called wanting to see if I can bring someone else with me and he told me no and isnt even willing to work with me. Personally I feel not having a spotter is a safety issue and its frustrating paying for 2 people and I'm not being allowed bring someone with me. Also I never got a copy of my contract as he told me he would email it to me and didn't. So I will be getting a copy of that and seeing what the fees are to cancel. Because I'm sure its less than what I am paying monthly for someone that cant even go with me.

I have been a member of TruFit for over a year now and have had some wonderful experiences but will tell you that I have quite a lot more issues than one should have to endure. I only think it is fair to combine both good and bad reviews about TruFit. Also – I am not someone who goes there for classes, or for the TV on the machines. I am there to work out on the Stairmaster, and lift weights. I don’t care much about having a fancy locker room, or a steam room. As long as the facility is clean and I get my workout in, I am happy. Good: They have a lot of equipment Most of the employees are friendly The locker room is generally clean and stocked They have towels It is not a busy gym in the mornings Out of the 7 trainers I went through, 2 of them are phenomenal Bad – The Facility - A lot of the cardio machines are often broken and it takes time to get them fixed They don’t refill the soap in the locker rooms The outlets don’t always work in the locker rooms They need more Stairmasters Bad – The Staff – They do not train their staff to handle any kind of situation – no one can answer any of my questions, they always have to go to Greg They don’t follow up when they say they will on an issue, I have to call a good 5 times before my questions are answered The staff generally just stand at the front on their cell phones Anyone that was amazing, has now left Bad – The Trainers – I had a trainer that asked me to have poor form (he believed this was the new way to do a squat or deadlift) and I had pain in my knees and lower back for weeks I had a trainer tell me after losing 70lbs that I clearly needed fixed, everything I did was wrong, I clearly eat carbs and asked me if I had fake boobs. I sent an email to the GM, the regional operations manager and received zero response. However, everyone that worked at the gym knew about it and the email I sent and who I was. The trainer still works there… I had a trainer cancel on me 6 times before I was given another trainer I had a trainer that was never on time, which took 15 min off of my 30 min session The trainer that helped me lose 70lbs quit because they stopped paying him Bad – The finances – After all the issues I had with the trainers, they didn’t let me cancel my contract They have charged me twice on multiple occasions Currently I have been over charged by $240 and the billing dept, gm, operations manager hasn’t done anything about it and won’t return the Trainer Manager’s emails/calls/text messages Overall – Go to a different gym. I am really upset that I have another year at this gym. I will be cancelling my contract as soon as they will let me. Oh and Greg has to be the worst General Manager of any facility I have encountered. When I was trying to sign up, he told me I could take the tour by myself. I also know that if you question him, he will fire you. He has a horrible attitude and doesn’t seem to care about the people keeping him in business. If I didn’t have to deal with anyone except for my now awesome trainer and could just work out…. I would like the gym. But the operations of this gym is horrific. Go somewhere else!

Buyer BEWARE. In spite of months of problems (like no hot water in the showers and classes where instructors do not show up), and complaints about these ongoing problems, the manager of the 88th and 120th locations (Greg) told me that there was nothing he could do in regards to letting me out of my contract (this is with only two months to go out of the year I signed up for) or refunding any money because I had already paid. That's right - if you give them your money to sign a contract, they will not do anything about your complaints and will not let you out of the contract or even consider giving you any pro-rated refund. The problems I have had for months include: insufficient or no hot water in the showers, the showers at the 88th facility run dirty water into a disgusting pool that it is necessary to walk through to exit the shower area, the Wifi is often not working, their fitness classes have many schedule changes (some that occur within days of the previous changes) and cancellations without notice so that my time is wasted waiting for instructors that do not show and classes that were rescheduled. In spite of multiple months of complaints regarding these issues, the manager Greg will only discuss how he is performing his job properly (e.g., trying to get the problems fixed) and will refuse to discuss any other type of resolution other than me putting up with the issues. Like I said, I literally only have two months left in my contract and Greg says there is "nothing he can do" because I paid upfront.
