WORST GYM EVER. Their finance department must be run by a bunch of ex convicts. My wife was charged over 300 dollars in 2 months when her membership is only $15 dollars. Management's explanation was that her credit card rejected their charge so they weren't able to take the money out (which was a false accusation). This resulted in a late fee of course. Miraculously just a couple days after the due date they were able to pull funds from that same card. hmmmm. seems fishy. The credit card company had no record of rejecting a payment. The rest was explained as just a "finance mistake." We found all of this out after 3 visits to the Westminster location and 3 meetings with in insanely rude general manager (their 3rd general manager in just 6 months btw) before my wife was able to get her money refunded the first month. we are still working on getting the other portion back this month. WTF is wrong with these people?! DO NOT GO TO TRUFIT EVER! they are the most unethical company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. I am so pissed I signed a 1 year contract. I asked how much I had to pay to get out of this contract and the only recourse was to pay the full amount due. Shame on me.

I signed up about a year ago when it was B Fitness. The staff and trainers were all really friendly and helpful. The machines worked and the place looked fantastic. I loved the place! When Trufit bought it out everything changed. They painted the walls an ugly bright blue and green color so now it looks like a kiddy play center. They took out the smoothie bar and started slacking on the towels... whereas before they had them all over the club so you could grab one pretty much wherever you were. Now every time I come in there is nobody at the front desk... I could sneak in a few friends I suppose. Customer service is terrible. One time when I used the hand dryer in the women's locker room sparks flew out of it and I went to go tell an employee but there was nobody to be found. Going to another gym once contract ends.

Buyer BEWARE. In spite of months of problems (like no hot water in the showers and classes where instructors do not show up), and complaints about these ongoing problems, the manager of the 88th and 120th locations (Greg) told me that there was nothing he could do in regards to letting me out of my contract (this is with only two months to go out of the year I signed up for) or refunding any money because I had already paid. That's right - if you give them your money to sign a contract, they will not do anything about your complaints and will not let you out of the contract or even consider giving you any pro-rated refund. The problems I have had for months include: insufficient or no hot water in the showers, the showers at the 88th facility run dirty water into a disgusting pool that it is necessary to walk through to exit the shower area, the Wifi is often not working, their fitness classes have many schedule changes (some that occur within days of the previous changes) and cancellations without notice so that my time is wasted waiting for instructors that do not show and classes that were rescheduled. In spite of multiple months of complaints regarding these issues, the manager Greg will only discuss how he is performing his job properly (e.g., trying to get the problems fixed) and will refuse to discuss any other type of resolution other than me putting up with the issues. Like I said, I literally only have two months left in my contract and Greg says there is "nothing he can do" because I paid upfront.

I've been a member here since 2008 (when it was originally Mountainside, then B Fit). The gym used to be very nice and clean and repairs and maintenance were a priority. Now as Tru Fit, maintenance and upkeep really suffers. Staff is no longer friendly and turnover among staff is alarming. They often forget to turn on music in the weight room (or have it very quiet), and play almost exclusively top 40. They have locked off half of the performance arena, where they've stashed a lot of equipment. As much staff is standing around talking, I can't believe they don't go clean and organize the gym more often. This used to be a 5-star gym and it is still a good place to work out, but I just can't enthusiastically recommend it under current Tru Fit ownership.

I have been a member of TruFit for over a year now and have had some wonderful experiences but will tell you that I have quite a lot more issues than one should have to endure. I only think it is fair to combine both good and bad reviews about TruFit. Also – I am not someone who goes there for classes, or for the TV on the machines. I am there to work out on the Stairmaster, and lift weights. I don’t care much about having a fancy locker room, or a steam room. As long as the facility is clean and I get my workout in, I am happy. Good: They have a lot of equipment Most of the employees are friendly The locker room is generally clean and stocked They have towels It is not a busy gym in the mornings Out of the 7 trainers I went through, 2 of them are phenomenal Bad – The Facility - A lot of the cardio machines are often broken and it takes time to get them fixed They don’t refill the soap in the locker rooms The outlets don’t always work in the locker rooms They need more Stairmasters Bad – The Staff – They do not train their staff to handle any kind of situation – no one can answer any of my questions, they always have to go to Greg They don’t follow up when they say they will on an issue, I have to call a good 5 times before my questions are answered The staff generally just stand at the front on their cell phones Anyone that was amazing, has now left Bad – The Trainers – I had a trainer that asked me to have poor form (he believed this was the new way to do a squat or deadlift) and I had pain in my knees and lower back for weeks I had a trainer tell me after losing 70lbs that I clearly needed fixed, everything I did was wrong, I clearly eat carbs and asked me if I had fake boobs. I sent an email to the GM, the regional operations manager and received zero response. However, everyone that worked at the gym knew about it and the email I sent and who I was. The trainer still works there… I had a trainer cancel on me 6 times before I was given another trainer I had a trainer that was never on time, which took 15 min off of my 30 min session The trainer that helped me lose 70lbs quit because they stopped paying him Bad – The finances – After all the issues I had with the trainers, they didn’t let me cancel my contract They have charged me twice on multiple occasions Currently I have been over charged by $240 and the billing dept, gm, operations manager hasn’t done anything about it and won’t return the Trainer Manager’s emails/calls/text messages Overall – Go to a different gym. I am really upset that I have another year at this gym. I will be cancelling my contract as soon as they will let me. Oh and Greg has to be the worst General Manager of any facility I have encountered. When I was trying to sign up, he told me I could take the tour by myself. I also know that if you question him, he will fire you. He has a horrible attitude and doesn’t seem to care about the people keeping him in business. If I didn’t have to deal with anyone except for my now awesome trainer and could just work out…. I would like the gym. But the operations of this gym is horrific. Go somewhere else!

This place has the best pricing that I could find and about everything I needed. Some of the staff is friendly, However the manager is very dismissive to suggestions and keeping machines in working order(greg). There is not enough carabiners for every machine and you constantly have to steal them from other machines ($10 fix). All of the D handles need lubed they give that high pitched sound during use. Cloth ones are no where to be found either. They put in a giant tv in front of the DB's that plays the same annoying advertisments over and over again. Why the hell are you advertiseing to your members? They are already...members. There is not a single clock with a second hand in the gym. You know that thing that is super helpfull for rest pause, interval and rest periods (maybe $50 to cover the entire gym). The weights, they are everywhere. Want to add 5lbs, it's burried under 3 45lbs plates. Need a 45lbs plate go steal it from the curl machine. Put your employees to work, keep your gym organized, fix your machine, listen to your customers and you could have a awesome gym. just my .02 Other thoughts: Bathrooms only have hand dryer.I end up getting water all over the mirrors trying to fling the excess water over before i use the dam hand dryer. Most of us don't use a locker, it would be nice if the front desk would hold keys.

Tru Fit is a down grade from B Fitness. Greg the manager is one of the worse people to deal with when it comes to getting your money back or them overcharging you. He continues to give me the run around with a credit of $66.40 that should have been taken care of a month ago. The place is very packed now that they are only charging people $20 a month with no contracts. I think what made that place great was the fact that it wasn't too busy but those days are gone. I would give it 3 stars but Greg makes it go down. When I buy my house in the next 6 months, I will leave them & go with Lifetime Fitness!

During my trail at the gym every thing was amazing... not that I have my membership a lot of equipment needs maintenance. I have experienced 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical and 1 bike not working properly and didn't have a out of service sign. Once those small adjustments are completed, back to 5 stars. Showing great progress, 10 lbs n one week.
