This 2-day wine tour itinerary is perfect for those wishing to spend a wonderful themed weekend while in Georgia. Both days of the program are focused on Eastern Georgia’s region Kakheti, with a special emphasis on Georgian traditional winemaking process - starting from the very essence of the national method, the Qvevri-makers (qvevri is a special clay pot where, being kept underground, pressed grapes are stored, mature and turn into wine), and continued by visits to different vineyards and wine cellars. This 2-day wine tour also includes such historical and architectural highlights of the region as Alaverdi monastery, Gremi complex (former Kakheti royal residence), and Sighnaghi town.

Some say that Caucasus region is absolutely unique in its geographical, ethnical and cultural characteristics brought together on a relatively small part of the land. With Black and Caspian seas embracing the region from West and East, and Caucasus mountains range sheltering three countries from the North, the place is ideal getaway destination for all those searching new experiences. Each country of the Caucasus, however close to each other, are very different and fascinating in its own way: all rich in history the people of these lands managed to keep almost intact their own traditions, culture, religious beliefs, unique languages as well as unique ancient alphabets (in Georgia and Armenia). While touring the Caucasus one would witness an amazing diversity of the region at its core.
