anyone have suggestions on software I should install on new "asus memo 10.1" tablets for young children ?
1-tracking software: in case child or tablet is taken
2-remote software: in case I need to activate tablet or just wipe it
3-anything else ?

yep, thanks Josh Frye ... sounds about right / also found the parental lock app (so no system changes) with a solid backup schedule , it should be fine.   now to add them to my client list so that it all gets done in a timely matter.

Why is it , every time I get a new data recovery job or digital forensic job I lose another piece of hardware ? This time it`s a monitor & HDD.
And what the hell is going on with my OS, I have to reload every time as well. I get BSOD or crashes or a ghost in the machine with each new job as well !
I have a custom build box for gaming & personal work / when I have a legit PC job, I swap out the HDD for a different one loaded as a FRED.
the FRED OS HDD just sits around waiting ( in the PC so its protected ). This time I was going to load the FRED OS HDD onto an SSD & now it`s acting up.....
Maybe it`s the 64 bit win 7pro or maybe it`s Microsoft, it could be the VMWare stuff with linux....
Any suggestions on a stable setup, OS,platform ?  Remember this is a dual purpose box.

Hmm i see issue with interface(USB hard ware issue vs Soft) .
I had some of those issue but i do a check of the system for files that might be protected or damages before recover/transfer to new drive.
I am building some new new data back up system to use the new Blu-ray and M-disc storage for long term achieves.
The M-disc are $$ but seem to be a great long term storage and for burning a back up image would be great ideal but that image needs to be clean .
Win7 I found has a few issue in doing this I have  trying to map them wile doing back up ..
like you have system it 64bit but it also x86 32bit files. Win 7 handles them but not all transfer programs do I have found.
A work around is to use Linux based program that boot independent of the the MS OS them lets you back up. this help avoid many issues in doing the back up but you could run into them during restore.
I have done crash test(crash system for the sake of seeing what happens) Having crash box to do test back ups helps find out what programs in the OS and third party don't play well together.

So I bought 2 of the new Asus memo 10.1 tablets

 http://www.asus.com/us/Tablets_Mobile/ASUS_MeMO_Pad_Smart_10/

Anyone have suggestions on what apps I need for two young kids ?
ages 8 & 9
1. tracking software
2. remote software for kill or wipe
MeMO Pad Smart provides crisp visuals, spectacular sound and a wealth of new and fun apps – buddy buzz, ASUS studio, Pinpal, as well as cloud webstorage; it is the best value tablet in its mobility segment.

had my car serviced at David Stanley today, excellent service as always / even though one of my rear tires was over-filled by ten pounds, kinda weird, but i can handle letting out some air - that's easy right. I always have a great experience there & their service is top notch ! John Gatlin always takes care of me and my car, keep up the great work guy`s !!
