Thank you to all of our listeners, and to the wonderful staff at King's Crab Shack for a wonderful evening at our Official Seafood Sponsor.  We devoured the best seafood in town, shot too many TLD Oyster Shots, and oh yeah, conducted a podcast!  James Douglas (General Manager), Paul Magee (Head Chef), and Will Kingery (Co-Owner) joined us to discuss the behind-the-scenes operations at King's Crab Shack.  Then, we launched into our regular podcast topics.

Tim led off the Movies section with the newest releases on Blue Ray, followed by a detailed review of "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises" with Nancye Bright.  Tim's Current/Non-Current Movie of the Week was "The Spy Who Loved Me."  In TV, Eugene pays homage to Sherman Hemsley and notates some facts on NASCAR's A.J. Allmendinger's suspension.  In Sports, Kim House and Tyler Collins team-up to help Brian break down the Penn State scandal, as well as preview the Olympics.  The Music section features the newest releases, and as critiqued by the fans, the Song of the Week is "The Men's Room at the Airport" by The Karl Hendricks Trio.  In Tech, we discuss the "iberry" dilemma - why a person would need two cell phones with new TLD fan Donna Dewispeleare.  Green Man Brewery's Porter is your Beer of the Week!  Again, many thanks to the TLD fans for coming out, and to the fantastic staff of King's Crab Shack for hosting us!

If you weren't at our Official Coffee Sponsor Cafe Roche on Wednesday night, you missed a wonderful live show (aka "remote recording"), and even better coffee! Learn how Cafe Roche owner Sarah Hummell developed a deep passion for coffee, and how that passion transcended into Winston-Salem's best coffee today. We also learned of some interesting twists of how Sarah acquired Cafe Roche, and how the shop received its name.

With the live show, we have your normal pop culture topics complete with audience engagement! Timothy G. Beeman II leads us through the top 5 movies in the theater, new releases on Blue Ray, and highlights his Current/Non-Current Movie of the Week, "Iron Man." Eugene B Sims takes the audience's pulse on what they're watching on TV, and apparently it's not "True Blood." Brian Attridge and former TV sports producer Tyler Collins debate on the question of this being the craziest offseason in NFL history. In Music, Tim has the current releases, and we have a song by Drew Parker titled "Christine" that received some interesting reviews from the audience. Our Official Right Click helped us sort through the Facebook IPO mess and what it means to their stock price in the near future. It was only fitting that we sampled a coffee beer for the Beer of the Week. This week, we tried the Espresso Amber Ale by Peak Brewing Company.

Many thanks to Sarah and Justin Hummell, and all of the fine folks at Cafe Roche for their wonderful hospitality! It was truly an honor to broadcast from your fine establishment. Lastly, a huge thank you to our listeners for coming out and being a part of the show! www.TheLessDesirables.com

Opie, owner of Winston-Salem’s only Irish pub Finnigan’s Wake, joins us in studio to discuss his rise in the restaurant business, culminating in our “Official Emerald Isle” Finnigan’s Wake. Opie also leads us into a behind-the-scenes audio of how to build a restaurant menu, the creation of the infamous 90-day club, and what it takes to pull off the Triad’s largest St. Patrick’s Day party. An insightful 30 minutes with Opie also reveals why he took the "risk" of opening a restaurant in the Arts District of Winston-Salem in the mid-2000's.

Tim has your top 5 in the theater, new releases on Blue Ray, and his Current/Non-Current Movie of the Week, "Death Race 2000." Eugene recaps the TV finales on your tube from last week. Brian exudes some passion over the NHL Playoffs... Conference Finals style. He also has a MLB update. In Music, we have your new album releases, and a thorough review of The Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" as the Current/Non-Current Album of the Week. We also have some (good) leftovers from Benjy -- a recorded track from last week's show, "Oasis Haircut." In Tech, we discuss Facebook's upcoming IPO and their current "college" culture. To close out the show, we sampled New Holland Brewing Company's "The Poet Oatmeal Stout." Many thanks to Opie, owner of Finnigan's Wake -- The Official Emerald Isle of The Less Desirables!

Musician Benjy Johnson stopped by Studio 2A for this week's podcast to discuss his musical career, and to play a generous number of songs from his impressive catalog! Benjy played three songs, including one written for the podcast -- "Less Desirable!" We also heard live versions of "I Don't Want To Live Forever," and "Nicotine and Gasoline." Tim has your new music releases, and "dominates" music trivia from 1987. Eugene has your TV update with an emphasis on upcoming finales. Brian covers the epic NHL Playoffs, including the Caps-Rangers' thrilling series. In Movies, Tim has the top 5 in the theater, and there's a short discussion on "Avengers." His Current/Non-Current Movie of the Week is "Inside Job." In Tech news, we learn about the first "driverless" car in Nevada, designed by Google. Lake James Cellars' "Southern Magnolia" is your Wine of the Month, and 21st Amendment's "Hell or High Watermelon" is your Beer of the Week!

Be sure to check out Benjy's music, and see where he's playing in the Triad on his website -- BenjyJohnsonMusic.com, and follow him on Twitter --@benjytunes. www.TheLessDesirables.com

The Official Beer Guru of The Less Desirables C. Jay Platt returns to cover his latest visit to a North Carolina brewery! This month, the Beer Guru discussed his recent visits to Birdsong Brewing Company and Noda Brewing Company both from the same area in Charlotte. From brewery decor to beer ingredients to the friendly staffs, and everything in between, you'll learn everything you need to know about these two emerging breweries from the artsy North Davidson section of Charlotte. We also manage to sample three beers from NoDa Brewing Co., with "Coco Loco" advancing as the Beer of the Week.

We also have your updated pop culture topics! Tim has the top 5 movies in the theater, new releases on Blue Ray, and some crafted notes on our newest sponsor a/perture cinema! "Jaws" is Tim's Current/Non-Current Movie of the Week. In TV, Eugene discusses the potential fate of some shows that have their seasons wrapping up soon, most notably GCB and Castle. In Sports, Brian updates us on the NBA playoffs, the gritty NHL playoffs, and discusses the fallout of the NFL draft. A superb record, "Damn the Torpedoes" by Tom Petty front-lines the Music section as the Current/Non-Current Album of the Week. Speaking of superb music, the Mediocre Bad Guys are back with their song of the month; all of us enjoyed "Simple and True" as evidenced by our high marks. If you happen to be getting married soon, be sure to check out the newest app -- "Appy Couple." We preview it in the weekly Tech section.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birdsong Brewing Co. and NoDa Brewing Co. for hosting some of us last month! Cheers to your wonderful beers and continued success! www.TheLessDesirables.com
