I had an exceptional experience at Bourbon Steak SF. It was my birthday and when we arrived they had a bday card on the table signed by all the wait staff. The fries and dipping sauces they brought out were excellent and the ahi tuna tar tar was not only excellent, but the presentation was superb. For entrees I went with Wagyu style Imperial Flat Iron steak with was amazing. High marbling, extremely tender and melted in your mouth. The salmon was also excellent. For dessert we had the beignets with an dipping amazing sauce. Overall the staff was extremely friendly and the food was amazing. This is an expensive restaurant, but worth the cost. Highly recommend.

Came in for a drink at 10:00pm on a weeknight, at last call, but did not feel at all rushed to order or to pay afterwards. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable about the bar's whiskey selections, but was not overbearing in her recommendations. The ambiance was cultured, refined, and the customers culturally diverse, contrary to what one might expect at an extremely upscale steak house in a major American city. The cocktail selection was standard for a place in San Francisco: "classic."

Look, I appreciate waiters who are passionate about their job and give tips and suggestions but this guy seemed genuinely irked that we wanted to "douse our meat" in unnecessary extras. I've eaten in some of the finest steak houses in the world and practically all of them have available, or even bring you by default, Bearnaise sauce. Does the meat need it?? No, it usually never does as this tier type of restaurant almost always uses very high quality product. But is it sometimes nice to have a little dollop of creamy, lemony Bearnaise on your bone-in rib-eye? Yes it is.

Extremely pricey, but deservingly so. Excellent food, very well presented, and a great attention to wine matching too, which was impressive. Ask to talk to their sommelier. The trek to get to the restrooms was... well, a trek. But the restaurant was very good.

This is one restaurant i wont visit again. The most expensive for the quality of food you receive. Very unapologetic staff for their very salty dishes that my family of 3 tried, we tried Quail, lobster and trout dish and neither was worth the money, their dishes only look good on staged pictures for the public. I have been regular visitor at most of the upscale union square restaurant, but this one is a waste, and won;t see me again! I give them 1.0 stars. Abdul

MINUS ONE STAR: I had a serious allergic reaction. I have a peanut and latex allergy, therefore I always ask the restaurants if they use any peanuts or latex gloves in their kitchen. The waiter was aloof and said he didn't think they did. (I even showed them my EPI pen and asked him if he was sure) MInus one star: We asked to order some appetizers while we looked over the menu and the waiter refused and said we had to order everything at once...really? So you don't want me to eat and order more drinks while we decide what we want?? (well you loose out on our drinks then) Minus one star: I absolutely hate it when the waiter/somlier comes and pours wine into my half filled glass. Just because there is a bottle of wine on the table does not mean that all of us are going to be drinking a lot. Some of us have to drive home and don't want to do so drunk. Also if I want another bottle I will let you know, don't keep asking me. We spent over $500, and for that amount of money I expect to not have an allergic reaction especially when I asked and notified the kitchen ahead of time. Michael Mina I am sorry but you failed me. I liked your food, but I can't recommend you. Please take note and educate your staff. When your client calls to notify you of issues and the GM leaves a gruff message that they can neither confirm or deny that you use latex, that is is wrong.

Very nice decor - an epic, open, palace-like area off the hotel. We were surprised by a clever amuse-bouche of french fries with three (very) different sauces. Food was tolerably OK, but overpriced for what we got: solid, but not spectacular, steaks; my dining companion asked for medium well and ended up with a medium rare steak not to her taste. Service was attentive, but a bit excitable, and our food came in a big rush - we ended up with more food on the table than we could really eat, and by the end everything was a bit cold. So: not bad; would return, but not for the high price we paid.

I had a couple of glasses of wine (two whites, one red), the beet salad, fries, and the scallops.The seasoning on the fries was interesting. The beet salad was mediocre. And the scallops were good, but not $$$$ good.
