Writing is hard and slow. Writing about writing is a little easier and a little faster. So I thought I’d do some of that, being the pretentious wastrel that I am. Back in 2008, some friends and I started writing a story. It was about resistance,…

Can I get some reshares and help from Rochester NY people?

Our landlord has decided not to renew and we need a place by April 30th. We want a 3 or 4 bedroom, under $1600, and it needs to be accessible to U of R and downtown without a car (so: on at least 1 bus line). We're thinking South Wedge, Park/East Ave, and the Mount Hope/Collegetown area, with the 19th Ward as last resort.

If you have a lead on a place or suggestions for searching, please let me know. We're utilizing Craigslist and PadMapper but there don't seem to be a lot of options for April - much of what we're finding is June and we'll have been kicked out by then. The June availability makes sense for students b it's pretty terrible for us right now. Do people think more things will be posted in March? Other sites to suggest?

"...we went straight to the stadium, and there were 40,000 people in the stands, portraying the history of the North Korean Revolution with flip cards. On the playing field before them, about 60,000 people did wild, synchronized gymnastics routines. The 15 of us who made up the audience watched from a marble dais. We were the only spectators. Fifteen audience members for a 100,000-man extravaganza. That was our first day in Pyongyang."

I saw the video of this a few months ago. Imagine an entire two-hour Olympics opening ceremony being performed, live, for some dude in a beard and a jacket from an Internet magazine that nobody's ever heard of. It's a symbol of how completely disconnected from reality this country is.

I've been binging on DPRK-related media for the last few weeks, and everything I learn about the place is completely horrifying, and (therefore) fascinating.
