Lockhead 12 Electra Junior

Day 4 of my #fivedayblackandwhitechallenge  . A day later, but who is counting?

Rules are quite simple:
1. Post a black and white photo for five days in a row, brand new or old, re-processed in b&w or processed for the first time - but only taken by yourself.
2. Each day you mention the person who invited you and nominate another one to participate in the challenge. Today I choose +Julie Brocca
3. I hope you choose to participate!  I would love to see what you share.

Today's image is one of many from static display of this year's #Airventure  in #oshkosh . I still need to sift through many of those. It was one of rare evenings it was not raining, we were out and about on the grounds. Tomasz went to see a talk in the Theatre in the Woods, and I went to find vintage airplanes. My pick this year were those with shiny, metal surfaces. I wanted to photograph all the cool reflections. This one was particularly suited for black and white.

My day 3 of the   #fivedayblackandwhitechallenge  . Glad two more are during a week, somehow it is more manageable ;)

Rules are quite simple:
1. Post a black and white photo for five days in a row, brand new or old, re-processed in b&w or processed for the first time - but only taken by yourself.
2. Each day you mention the person who invited you and nominate another one to participate in the challenge. Today I choose +Mark McGowan
3. I hope you choose to participate!  I would love to see what you share.

Day 3 - noticed this during #worldwidephotowalk  in Amana, Iowa. I loved how the shadows of the tree was making this, interesting by its pattern, wall, even more interesting. Just perfect image for black and white!

A rope

I have been challenged recently by +Cherie Flint  to #fivedayblackandwhitechallenge  . I am trying hard to stick to it, so it is my day 3.

Rules are quite simple:
1. Post a black and white photo for five days in a row, brand new or old, re-processed in b&w or processed for the first time - but only taken by yourself.
2. Each day you mention the person who invited you and nominate another one to participate in the challenge. Today I choose +Valerie Jardin
3. I hope you choose to participate!  I would love to see what you share.

Day 3 - I found this rope in boat houses neighbourhood of Cedar Rapids. The whole area was quite a surprise and discovery for me, so we walked around for a while, me photographing. This close up was one of my favorites, definitely the best for black and white conversion.

Fall in Iowa City

Day 2 of #fivedayblackandwhitechallenge .

For those new to the idea:
Rules are quite simple:
1. Post a black and white photo for five days in a row, brand new or old, re-processed in b&w or processed for the first time - but only taken by yourself.
2. Each day you mention the person who invited you and nominate another one to participate in the challenge. Today I choose +Zuzanna Butkiewicz - Wakuluk
3. I hope you choose to participate!  I would love to see what you share.

Today's image is another fresh B&W conversion. I wanted to see how fall colors would look in black and white. I have this recent series or aerials of autumn in the area I live. I choose this one for black and white because of the strong geometric lines of the street of this neighbourhood.

Texture of wood

I have been challenged recently by +Cherie Flint to #fivedayblackandwhitechallenge  . I always wanted to be challenged in one of those, so I will do my best effort to stick to this one.

Rules are quite simple:
1. Post a black and white photo for five days in a row, brand new or old, re-processed in b&w or processed for the first time - but only taken by yourself.
2. Each day you mention the person who invited you and nominate another one to participate in the challenge. Today I choose +Rae Lowenberg
3. I hope you choose to participate!  I would love to see what you share.

Day 1 - a brand new image. Few weeks ago, I was looking for fall in the woods, but I found this cut tree trunk and could not resist the texture and pattern. I knew it will be a great B&W, so challenge made me actually do it, finally. It reminds me of curly, long hair a bit...

Pumpkins

Another image I took during Worldwide Photo Walk in Amana. I have few images where I thought they would work better in black and white and this was one of those. When I first did the conversion, there was almost no contrast between pumpkins and the background. I worked hard to get back the spot-light effect I envisioned for this image. I still have mixed feelings about it – as thumbnail and from distance it looks great, just what I wanted to achieve. Not so much up close, normal viewing size…

Taking off Green Castle

While still on the subject of autumn.... Airplanes do look good on the background of the colorful trees. Here are some examples.

We spend the whole Sunday at the Green Castle airfield, enjoying annual Pumpkin Splat event. I was mostly photographing, playing some with recording movies on the camera (maybe I will share the clip or two sometime).
