On February 24, 2013, I fell in Sierra Leone, West Africa and broke my left ankle.  On March 7, 2013, you repaired my ankle.  Exactly 4 months later, July 7, 2013, I was on a 3 mile hike in the Swiss Alps.  I never thought that would be possible.  Prior to my accident, we had planned a 7 week trip to Europe beginning June 5th.  While you told me that, over time, I could expect a full recovery, I was concerned that my mobility would be seriously limited during the trip.  You told me the story of a pilot that was able to return to work 7 weeks because he tool his physical therapy seriously.  That story resonated with me.  From that moment, I was dedicated to doing everything that would give me similar results.  Your OrthoTexas Carrollton Physical Therapy group was amazing.  Your PT team was Samantha and her assistant Sam.  Without their guidance, this hike in the Swiss Alps, 4 months after surgery with Kieth A. Heier would have not been possible.  I am back to full routine, and I feel great.

Your feet are some of the most complex body parts you have. Did you know that of the 206 bones in the human body that 52 are in your feet (26 in each)? They also contain 66 joints and over 100 soft tissues.
When your feet have a bad day, your knees, hips and even back may even be feeling the pain as well. Be sure to wear supportive shoes to put as little stress on them as possible.
