Real Italian food! I have been to a couple of places and usually its all american italian but this place has great food! The prices were very high though! If you're gonna take a date here make it your anniversary hah

Mamma mia the entire experience was delizioso! Every dish had us holding out our hands in the "perfecto!" Italian gesture. The romantic lighting and dazzling views of the city complemented our flavorful dinner.

Poor, surly attitude from hostess made me turn around and leave before we were seated. Probably won't attempt another visit.

I ate here once with a really large group, so keep that in mind. I thought it was slow and a little tacky but it deserves 4 stars because of the utterly amazing food I had. I think it was lobster ravioli, definitely some kind of lobster pasta situation though. I mean, I haven't been in 3-4 years, and I still remember that one meal, it was just so good. Its pricey and the portions are small though. I'd go back again for sure. Its a good North End staple when you're wandering around the 70+ restaurants in that area trying to figure out what to eat.

Delicious! If you are looking for a good, classic Italian meal that does not include your regular Americanized-Italian dishes, then this is the place to be. You have to be a bit of an adventurous eater to enjoy some of the truly spectacular dishes that Mamma Maria offers, but if you are, it is well worth it. I had the tuna tartare, which I normally would not eat, but it just looked SO good, that I had to suck it up. And trust me, it was well worth it. For my entree I got the short rib, and holy moly was it incredible. The desserts were also phenomenal, but not your typical Italian desserts. The space is absolutely adorable--on a very bumpy cobblestone road, in a cozy old-school establishment. Highly recommended!!

My fiance and I visited Mamma Maria last night for a Valentines Day date. This restaurant was top notch! Mamma Maria is so elegant and romantic. The food tasted amazing..everything was so fresh and tasted like it was straight from Italy. The servers and cooks were very fast and polite. Even the view from where we were sitting was excellent. I definitely would recommend it to anybody and I will be back. I can't stop craving their food!

Beautiful food in a historic brownstone. Doesn't get better than this.
