Getting rid of collection in +YouTube really? I have never ever regretted the disappearance of a feature as much as this one.

Job announcement in Brussels:

The European Parliament has signed a 4 year contract with Manpower Business Solutions Belgium (MBS) to outsource a number of floor staff activities (info-desk, cloakroom, media-guide assistant, facilitator, etc.).
You may know someone who would be interested in a job in the Parlamentarium, the European Parliament Visitors' Centre, which will open in October 2011 in Brussels (http://www.europarl.europa.eu/visiting/en/parlamentarium). Contract under Belgian law, not directly with the EP.
MBS has started recruitment procedures and you can check out its link www.manpower.be and search by typing the keywords: 'Expo Crew'. A recruitment day is scheduled on 20 August 2011.
CVs can also be sent directly to parlamentarium@mbsbel.be FAO Mrs Cammaerts and Mrs Kempeneer.

Apparently they changed the title of the job, it now says "assistant parlementarium", which in itself is a mistake as it should read "assistant parlAmentarium", with an a. I can't give you a link directly, so please search for this instead.

Absolutely wonderful!
The images used in this time lapse were taken in 2011 over the course of three summer months in Europe. My wife's mother lives in Lithuania, just outside of the capital city Vilnius, so we decided to ...

Google starting verifying account. Read through before saying anything;

Personally? A welcome move. On the web people can pretend too easily to be someone they are not, with the consequences we know. I'm all for this verification process. And if people don't like it, it's ok, you should be able not to be verified. But you will have to accept to be marked as 'unverified'. Easier for parents to help protect their children, young women not being fooled in meeting grumpy old guys when they thought they shared with other teenagers, etc.
Social media isn't like fora where one can express - rightly so - even far fetched opinions. Social media is all about socialising. You simply need to know who you're talking to.

I have no clue how Google does it, or plans to do it for lesser known people. But in the medium term, on the internet in general, I would not mind getting a verified electronic ID through let's say police or local authorities. If well protected, a system could easily be put in place to sign in with that identity, and voilà! you are who you are.

Sushis to go (only two seats available just in case). Simply delicious, and reasonable prices. Warm dishes also available.

A place to park. Nothing unusual here.

Very good. But once you start, it's hard to stop as sushis and such travel on the belt under your nose. So you end up with quite a bill. Count around 25€ to eat a proper lunch.
