Felt led this week to spend time praying for each one of you. I wrote out 13 things I wanted to pray specifically (see picture below), but mostly I spent time praying Ephesians 3:16-19...

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

The scriptures I based all 13 prayers on are listed below.

Love to lead your actions - Psalm 36:7

How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

Teachability to guide your heart – Proverbs 2:2-5

Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.

Perspective to help you see the real world – Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Humility to be your true desire – Luke 9:23

Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

Wisdom to protect your soul – Colossians 3:16-17

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

Trust to direct your calling – Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Discipline to compel your day-to-day – 2 Timothy 2:25

Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.

Joy to carry your burdens – Proverbs 17:22

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

Faith to believe in a God of the impossible – Ephesians 3:20

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Rest to know He has everything under control – Matthew 11:28-30

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.

Courage to pursue what others deem crazy – Romans 8:31

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Friendships to support you along the way - Proverbs 13:20

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

May you know you are loved, thought of, and prayed for!
