This is my first day on the computer post evacuation from the Malibu fires. I have heard my home is ok for now, so everyday has felt like a thanksgiving! I am at a family members home in west Los Angeles and it is very peaceful and centrally located. I drove about 6 hours on Friday during evacuation for what should have been 90 minutes of driving - most of the time with a huge growing gray cloud behind me. But I’m getting used to my new locale, bought some clothes as I don’t think I’ll be home for a while, and found a studio to loan me some practice time - Carnegie is coming up remember, and there's only 1 way to get there evacuation or not. I’m hoping to be back in by Thanksgiving but the air and water are polluted right now and there are still fires and high winds expected. So I’ll make the best of my time here, spending extra time with family members too. It’s been pretty disruptive, and a bit scary - the fire burned 3 homes on my street, but it’s subsiding if not over.

Thank you for your kind thoughts everyone.
Lisa

This is a sweet little find... on the Top 100 ZMR radio chart for September 2018 I have TWO albums - one from 2013 and one from 2011 on it! What a 'vote' of support today for GETAWAY and UNDERGROUND.

Thank you Dee Dee - I really do like my trio on OASIS....
“Hilton shows off her left-handed dexterity, while her right hand improvises brightly. Mark Whitfield Jr., keeps the trap drums strong beneath her up-tempo prowess. Luques Curtis, on bass, locks into the production to bring solid support.”

Thank you CarolBanksWebber:
"'Oasis' is freedom and lyrical art. It overflows with Hilton’s somersaulting narrative, lyricism in every note, turning and churning in on itself — expressed with thought, clarity, and the fusion of movement and texture.

Hilton slips in a whirlwind of feeling in “Watercolor World,” as a painter would to her canvas — in splashes and spurts, behind your back. The composition unravels in ever-shifting threads, which she seems to brush and stroke back into a semblance of orderly life. Her aerial lifts bank up against contrasting, darker chords for that subtle textural context she’s known for".
