For the #241NavyBday Concert we honored a 100-year-old World War II veteran who displayed profound toughness as a naval aviator. During his deployment, Lt. Norton Hurd had to ditch his F6F Hellcat after surviving a dogfight with a Japanese fighter. Check out his story and birthday message for the U.S. Navy.

#TriviaTuesday: Before the formal establishment of the U.S. Navy on Oct. 13, 1775, George Washington, then Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army, started acquiring ships, sometimes at his own expense. Name the very first vessel acquired.
