Been experimenting with some more product shots. If there's one thing I've learnt it's that I need to get a new tripod, this one doesn't exactly support the weight of my camera when shooting vertically. Left me to do a bit of straightening on Photoshop.
I made the shot by using a white piece of foam core underneath the bottle and a black piece of card behind to create some contrast. It was lit by a soft box to the top left and then a mirror reflecting the light back on the right. I added a diffused flashgun on top to create some catch light and produce the dark ring around the bottom of the bottle.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the shot, but unfortunately the mirror produced a bit too much reflection around the bottom right of the image., something I didn't notice until I had packed up the studio and opened the images in bridge.

I've just started a new blog which I'm planning to keep up to date. Well, more up to date than my last one!

I have just embarked upon a new project for my photography A-Level, the title was "Poetry and Literature", so I thought I would test my skills and move away slightly from the more mundane landscapes I tend to shoot all the time and look into some portraiture.
