San Joaquin County Bureau Chief Melinda Meza has 15 years experience in television news. She has been an anchor, reporter, producer and photographer.
Melinda graduated from San Diego State University and attended the Poynter Institute. She is a member of the California Chicano News Media Association.
Melinda started as a producer at KGTV in San Diego then went to Chico for her first on-air job. She started a morning show in Santa Rosa as an anchor and reporter. There, she took home numerous awards and had a weekly health series.
Melinda has covered everything from the BART riots in Oakland to Southern California wildfires to the Scott Peterson murder trial.
Melinda says she is excited to cover San Joaquin County and be close to home.
She says community involvement is important to her and she likes to give a voice to community members.
Melinda has a son and enjoys working out, boating, dancing, hiking, watching television and spending time with family.
