Ken Hazouri, Partner in the Orlando office, recently became board certified in Appellate Practice by The Florida Bar. Board certification is the Bar’s highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of an attorney in the designated area of the law, and only board-certified attorneys may refer to themselves as “experts” or “specialists” in their field. To obtain the certification, Ken had to satisfy a rigorous slate of requirements, which include having primary responsibility for 25 appeals and performing five oral arguments in the past five years; attending 45 hours of approved continuing legal education in appellate law in the past three years; obtaining peer reviews from attorneys and judges attesting to his competence and professionalism; and passing a difficult, six-hour exam designed to demonstrate sufficient knowledge, proficiency, and experience in appellate practice. There are over 100,000 members of the Florida Bar, of which only 184 attorneys are board certified in appellate practice. DSK Law applauds Ken for his continued integrity and devotion towards the practice of law as we strive to offer quality legal advice to our clients.
