If I were rating on the staff alone: five stars without question. I have rarely been in an establishment where every encounter was more than pleasant, possibly exceptional. The hotel staff should be commended. Everything else was what I expected in a large convention center hotel. The rooms were pleasant, clean and stocked with standard amenities. My biggest dislikes at that price point: mattresses from Bedrock, hotel dining à la airline economy class and elevators circa 1952. I would stay again if in the area, but wearing walking shoes, dining elsewhere and scheduling massage therapy each morning. If not for the exceptional staff, this would be an entirely different review.

This was a beautiful place to stay! Staff was friendly and helpful! We had a room overlooking the the garden conservatory, which was amazing ! We love the little patio and tables at our room to be able to sit out and relax at the room and be in the conservatory part! We really enjoyed the scenery and being able to walk around in a fun, peaceful environment and have so many things to do, including shops, boat rides, restaurants, the pool, looking at the fountainsand waterfalls and lights at night, and much more!. We were never bored and had lots of help from staff to find and utilize these areas! Thanks for a great, enjoyable, and unforgettable stay!

Nashville is unlike a lot of the big cities and one of the biggest differences was that instead of building up (like the skyscrapers in New York City) they have the land to build out and that is certainly the case here. If you are visiting the Gaylord Opryland Resort make sure that you bring your walking shoes and a portable GPS! :) There are so many hallways and rooms that you will have a good opportunity to test your navigating skills. Once you find your way around it is an awesome place to be. They have a live radio station in the hotel and plenty of places to eat. Also if you are planning on heading over to the Grand Ole Opry they are right next door and they had a shuttle that brought you to and from the show.

The resort itself is huge and beautiful. The room in which I stayed for five nights was small, but nice and well maintained. The service overall needs some work. I was here for a large conference and many of the restaurants in the resort simply weren't open for lunch. Considering the number of people on site and the need to stay within the hotel, it would be nice to have more options to get a meal in a reasonable time. When having breakfast one morning at the Cascade restaurant, our food took nearly an hour to arrive. Overall, a nice place, but the service needs some improvements to make it worth the price paid.

Attended a convention and was pleasantly surprised that the Grand Ole Opry was just steps away. The hotel is overwhelming for size. Would return for a quick weekend away if I have the opportunity. Hotel is a quick shuttle from the airport and convenient without need for a rental car.

Love my room...open into the garden area right next to the waterfall. Will definitely come back. Update: several things didn't meet my expectations. 1.) Credit card was damaged and a new one was sent overnight. Their business center didn't contact me and because a letter was mispelled in my name, I was told nothing had arrived when in fact it had been delivered. 2.) I had the full breakfast which is supposed to have french toast. Unfortunately, they had a french toast casserole...and you have to pay extra for regular french toast. And then after, I paid extra I found that the taste was not even mediocre. My first and last time eating at this particular restaurant. But on a positive note, the Asian guy cooking the omelets was really attractive;-)

The Gaylord Portland Resort & Convention center has had to have been easily one of the most extravagant and places I've ever seen. From the arboretums located in each individual section to the main venue of shops, I could've wondered around for much longer than I did (for about 3 hours). The hospitality of the staff was amazing and everything was so well kept and clean for such a large establishment. The only downside is parking, if you aren't specifically aware that there's parking for free that is within walking distance then you'll pay a hefty parking fee of $25.00. Overall, it was well worth the visit and was a sight worth seeing.

THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR ANNOUNCES FINAL YEAR AT THE GRAND OLE OPRY HOUSE IN NASHVILLE

Santa Claus Takes Center Stage in a New Heartwarming Storyline Featuring New Scenes Alongside Beloved Fan Favorites for a Magical Final Run in Nashville

NOVEMBER 21 – DECEMBER 24, 2014

TICKETS ON SALE NOW

Nashville, Tenn. (October 9, 2014)—MSG Entertainment (MSGE) announced today that the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes will mark its final season in Nashville in 2014.

Commemorating its 13th and final year as part of Gaylord Opryland Resort’s annual A Country Christmas, America’s #1 holiday show will celebrate the magic of Christmas like never before with an all new, unforgettable experience as Santa Claus takes center stage with a re-imagined second act featuring technological enhancements and dazzling Rockettes choreography alongside beloved fan favorites.

The Christmas Spectacular will run at the Grand Ole Opry House from November 21 – December 24, 2014. Tickets are on sale now.

“After 13 incredible years in Nashville, we are announcing the final season of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at the Grand Ole Opry House,” says David Goodman, president of productions and live entertainment, MSG Entertainment. “We are so grateful for Nashville audiences making the Radio City Christmas Spectacular part of their holiday traditions over the years and, as a gift to both newcomers and returning guests, we are bringing a re-imagined second act to make for a magical final year at the Grand Ole Opry House. With this heartwarming new storyline coupled with technological enhancements and the precision technique of the legendary Rockettes, audiences will not want to miss this year’s production.”

In the brand new storyline, Santa Claus helps two brothers find a special gift for their sister in “Magic is There,” taking them on a magical journey to his workshop at the North Pole, where playful ragdolls come to life. The newly re-imagined scene, “Here Comes Santa Claus,” reveals how Santa can be in multiple places at once. These uplifting moments highlight the spirit of Christmas in a way that only Santa himself can deliver.

The Rockettes are known for their rich history, unrivaled talent, strength, precision and athleticism and have become one of the nation’s most beloved icons. They continue to take the Christmas Spectacular to new heights, dazzling audiences with their performance style, as it continues to be both deceivingly complex and entirely glamorous.

The Rockettes will bring audiences to their feet with the show-stopping number “Christmas in New York,” as they showcase their signature eye-high kicks and immerse audiences in the buzzing scenes and sounds of New York City. In fan-favorite scenes, including the high-energy, tap number, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” the Rockettes will showcase their challenging and dynamic choreography.

The stage will come alive with scenes including “Sleigh Ride,” where the Rockettes become Santa’s reindeer, helping both Santa and the audience begin their magical journey, and “Christmas Dreams,” which will showcase the Rockettes unparalleled precision technique.

Beloved numbers such as “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” which continues to set the standard as the signature Rockettes number for precision performance, and “The Living Nativity,” both of which have been performed since the Christmas Spectacular’s inception in 1933, remain a vital part of the show’s core. Audiences will have the opportunity to lend their voices in the closing number, the “Hallelujah Chorus,” a tradition in the Nashville production.

Since 1933, the production at Radio City Music Hall has played to more than 75 million people and has become a holiday tradition for families. The Christmas Spectacular continues to create memories that audiences have come to treasure and this year, will mark an all new spectacular experience for Nashville as it celebrates its final year at the Grand Ole Opry House.
