The things I love about this hotel. .....where do I start....the location is perfect for getting around the CBD on foot, bus, train, tram or cab with evey thing at the doorstep. Comfotable rooms with upgrades if they can, great bars & resturant. But best of all are the staff, one in particular not mentioning any names ,AMANDA DUNFORD, they always greet you with a smile and are friendly & helpful. One night in particular I get back to my room after a night out to find my room decorated & a bottle of chamus awaiting me it was my birthday, you don't get that everywhere. I recomend the Mecure Sydney on your next stay in Sydney you won't be disappointed😄

Location is only as good as the people that are in the location. Ive just finished staying 20 nights at this hotel and let me tell you. SERVICE -The service is awful! BREAKFAST - Over priced breakfast. but the hotel food beverage manager does a great job at exceptional service. This goes for everyone working in this area CLEANERS -Lousy Cleaners (cleanliness was good) I had some products go missing from my room after making a query i was informed someone would get back to me. NOTHING. WIFI speed -as a Le Club member you are entitled to free WIFI the wifi is soo bad i used my 3g/4g network to access my computer. Surely they can work towards better wifi. Further more - after an error with my wifi i am told i have to bring my device to front desk. Come on!! STAFF -With the exception of some staff, the staff were down right rude. I mean im spending $$$ to stay this long. GYM-The gym is pathetic - may as well be lifting rocks. The sauna is not a hot box at all (i saw one guy try to use towels to try and keep the heat in.)wtf CHECK OUT - upon checkout i asked for a copy of the signed receipt and was told by the assistant manager " it only prints one page" soooo helpful. Now go photo copy it. He did. For the price - i would not recommend this hotel. I have received better customer service experience in more budget accommodation

I had a pleasant stay here, nothing amazing but pleasant. Being close to public transport is useful. Breakfast in the restaurant was good, especially the bread and butter pudding.
Response from the owner - 3 weeks ago
Hi Jack, Thank you so much for your feedback. I have passed your feedback on to our executive chef to ensure we keep the bread and butter pudding. We hope to see you again soon Kindest regards Greg Brady General Manager

The Mercure Sydney is one of Sydney's unexpected gems when it comes to affordable accommodation for those that are visiting Sydney or simply escaping their home for a special night away. Ideally located next to Central Station and moments away from Sydney's CBD shopping district, you will find that the Mercure has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, My husband and I were given a complimentary upgrade upon arrival at the hotel and found our room to be much larger than expected. The bed was plush and, after going out for the evening, we were more than satisfied with the food we ordered from the overnight room service menu to silence our slightly hungry stomachs, Completing our experience, we found the bathroom to be well appointed with warm showers and a lovely flow of water, and before checking out, we had time to enjoy a buffet breakfast in the hotel which included waffles and pancakes. Highly recommend staying at the Mercure Sydney which exceeds the expectations of a 4 star hotel.

Many years ago in 2000 as part of a media team from the Middle East for Emirates Airlines' inaugural flight from Dubai to Sydney, an Australian friend took me on a terrace restaurant of your Hotel after a bout of shopping. 15 years later, I will hope to reside in your hotel for three days from May 30. I was impressed by the service, your bread pudding and oodles of smiles. I hope to be part of that Mercure generosity and be impressed again. My wife Alka and I will be part of the Thomas Cook tour of Australia which begins in Brisbane on May 22. Looking forward to it. David D'Souza Pune India

We were in Sydney to visit our daughter and initially selected this property due to location close to her dorm. Our family could not be happier with our stay. All the staff and Manager (Luke) we dealt with were outstanding. While not 5 star fancy, it's very clean and very comfortable. The location is idea for train access or walking. Would recommend and would stay here again.

Central location close to trains. Neat tidy room, comfortable beds. Room was poorly lit with only bedside lights and a desk lamp. No overhead light made it hard to see when trying to pack, find things in our room etc. I found this to be quite off putting. The shower ran hot and cold with the hot being so scalding hot that it made showering quite dangerous. Good gym and nice pool. Good value breakfast with gluten free options and kids eat free. Good service from the staff. Hotel was a little noisy with people coming and going at all hours so ask for a room away from the lift and on a higher floor to avoid street noise too. Would we stay here again? If we wanted somewhere convenient for the train yes but otherwise no.
