I just had the displeasure of intervening between a handyman and customer concerning their bathroom renovation. He's done there as of now, and they need someone to come in and redo what's already been done for the subfloor repairs. The plumber refused to install the shower plumbing/Sterling shower unit because it was so hacked up in there. I don't have time to take the job over so hopefully another guy I know will take care of them, they'll meet tomorrow.
I've known this lady for years, she's a retired waitress from a local restaurant, have done a ton of work for her son on several of his properties........ and she calls me to help her out of her jamb knowing that she should have called me originally for the work instead of trying to save money and get some unlicensed handyman to do it cheaper.
For a moment I thought for sure it was going to end violently, threats were made but I kept my cool and got it diffused instead.  He'd already been paid $1000 and wanted another $650 before leaving...and well that wasn't going to and didn't happen. He'd only half demo'd the bathroom and all his subfloor repairs need to be ripped out and redone correctly.
Anyway, I'm left wondering....why did I even stick my neck out on this? Happy Friday!

It's been updated at a 6.0 What a rude awakening this morning. It shook my house HARD and kept rolling for an unbelievably long time...no damage. Vallejo and Napa got a lot of damage though.

My van on the gurney headed to surgery. One of the neighbors down the street decided to fire off about 8 rounds Thursday night. Didn't see any damage right after, but van wouldn't start Friday for work. Swapped to truck real quick and found this bullet hole after work....no wonder it wouldn't start. Bullet went right through my main wiring harness on the firewall. Thankfully it wasn't a person, but sure going to make the next week or so a pain in the rear.

Happened to be picking up some Quartzlock from Daltile yesterday and was told they had Wedi rep coming today to show off their wares since my local Daltile will now be stocking Wedi.  So, tonight I had me some free dinner and a show, Wedi rep building a mock up shower.....my Wedi certification will be sent to Daltile for me to pick up in a few days LOL
Anyway, I heard they were going to be manufacturing here in the states before long that should help get their pricing down....just thought I'd share that.

Happy Monday everyone. Seems the flood gates have opened here, getting more leads than I can wrap my head around. Went into this year booked out a few months until a couple weeks ago I was mostly caught up and taking care of little odds and ends that were put off until it was "convenient" besides some things that were on hold til August. Now, I'm suddenly scrambling trying to estimate so much at once while in the middle of a bathroom renovation. I need to clone myself for the next week or so......
Have a great week everyone!!!

Did anyone else work today? Demo'd a small kitchen...mostly by myself.  %#@#&!!! Came home early because it was way too hot in the attic to go up in there, saving it for first thing in the morning. Need to run a dedicated circuit for the microwave and add some recessed lights. Hope you all were smarter than me today.........
