And I must also thank the brilliant Debbie Arthurs Sweet Rhythm who provided the perfect musical accompaniment to our Club day.

A wonderful time was had at our Club day on Saturday 31st May, held at Club HQ.

The weather was pretty good, and we would like to thank all the stallholders and the exhibitors who helped make it such a good day, and of course many thanks indeed to all the members who travelled to sunny Worcestershire (some from overseas).

50 years ago today James Bond first hit the big screen in the movie 'Dr No'.

But did you know that in pre-production for the third film 'Goldeneye', the Jaguar E-type was meant to be Bond's iconic car and not the Aston Martin DB5? Sir William Lyons refused to lend the production company the three E-types producer Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli requested, so Cubby's hand was forced and the Aston it was!

We are proud to inform you that Ultimate E-type, by the E-type Club's very own Philip Porter, has just picked up another prestigious award. At this week's British Sports Book Awards, at the Savoy Hotel in London, Ultimate E-type was chosen as Motorsport Book of the Year.

Chief judge, Richard Aucock, Chairman of the Guild of Motoring Writers states: “Philip's book was a clear winner. This is the first time the Guild has been involved with the British Sports Book Awards and we are delighted the inaugural prize has gone to such an impressive title.”

This is the book's second major accolade as it was recently voted International Historic Motoring Book of the Year.

Watch the video below to soak up the atmosphere of the event and to find out more about the nominees and the winners.
