LOCALS ONLY: I’m keeping one book on hand for loaning out to starving artists and such. The only catch is that you'll be responsible for getting it to the next person on the list. If you shirk this duty and have to be chased down, I’ll sick my hounds on you. #Modesto #GoodReads

I am hosting a UK exclusive 'Kindle Countdown' sale this weekend for my memoir "The Complicated Geography of Alice." (A countdown sale works by starting with a low price on the first day of the sale and working back up to the full price by the last day of the sale.) The sale will run from Friday, January 30 through Monday, February 2. The price will begin at £1.99 on Friday, increase to £ 2.99 on Saturday, and so on. Please share with friends over the pond who might enjoy.  #LGBT #UK #GoodReads http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00QIWPEQ4

"Salma Hayek’s #Everly has got mother problems, daughter problems and ohmygod you wouldn’t believe the backstabbing bitches she works with. To top it all off she’s got a slave-driving boss who is so demanding that Everly hasn’t had a day off in years. What good are to-die-for shoes if you never get outside in them?"

The Complicated Geography of Alice (available for Kindle and in paperback through Amazon this December) is an  intimate portrayal of a family in crisis and a mother who believes that her daughter is going to blaze a brave new path if she can just keep her sober long enough to grow up.

The visibility of gender-non-conforming children is on the rise. Recent parenting memoirs have explored the extraordinary challenges of raising a gender-variant child, but this is the first book to examine the intersection of gender identity, substance abuse, and mental health in an honest, non-clinical manner.

#NetNeutrality  must be defended. It is an important political issue the requires you to DO something to stop big corporations from finding a new way to "make" (extort) money by messing with your life. Contact your elected officials/potential candidates, talk to people you know, write the FCC to demand that the internet be regulated like any other public utility. Do something.

"Nearly every night for the last 4 ½ years, I’ve fallen asleep with an episode of #CornerGas  playing on the television. - Perhaps it seems odd, the connection between this sitcom and my #grief  ..."

We ordered the specials (Rib Eye and Lamb Shank) and both were delicious. From here on in, Bauer's is most certainly ON THE LIST.
