Lisa Guerra and Jeff Volosin will join us together on Friday, April 11th, to wrap up the SSE101 course in our final Hangout. If you have lingering questions or if new ones have occurred to you, this is a great second opportunity to ask about the course or about life as a #NASA engineer. As always, the live stream and archived video will be available on this event page as well as on the course page.

If you missed our earlier Hangouts with each of them, you can catch up here:

We don't usually think of food insecurity as "why we do what we do", but many college students are more focused on where the next meal is coming from than on getting the most from their education.

Food insecurity rises on college campuses as tuition increases and more low-income students enroll.

"We don't want them to be working," says Paglione, who teaches astronomy at CUNY's York College at Queens. "We want them to be concentrating on their academics. So we removed that tuition problem."

An apprenticeship program in New York City helps lower-income and minority students break into advanced sciences. For one, the love of the stars was motivation to tackle the tough field of astronomy.

Thanks everyone for attending and for great questions. Going live in front of an audience isn't even easy for people behind a major NASA project, but Mr. Menzel and Dr. Mather enjoyed the opportunity and clearly had a good time. You all, as students, public, professionals, and future professionals, made that possible.
